I have 2 Maine Coons, & love them very much. The do miss me when I’m away, so I try to keep my time away to 5 hours or less. I would never leave them overnight. Their personalities are quite different from one another; my female is very shy & tends to be a one person cat, while my male is much more outgoing. On the whole they are both quite shy which is, I think, because they don’t see enough people.

They are beautiful animals. But I wouldn't have one as a pet.

I have two Bengal boys, now about 3 years old. I got them when they were a year old from a shelter. The previous owner became pregnant with triplets, and gave them up as three infants and two young Bengals would be too much. If I have to leave home overnight, I have a cat sitter come and stay with them. They eat like horses, but don't get fat. If I forget to feed them before bed time, the more aggressive one comes to wake me up for a feeding by pawing my face and biting my toes. Out here in the country, field mice get into the house. The boys will hunt them down and kill them, but do not eat them. And they love running water.

Seriously, leave wild animals in the wild. There's plenty of homeless pets at the shelter that need your love.

There was one in a little zoo in OR petting zoo.

We have 3 Bengal cats. One is about 18 months old and the other 2 are about 6 months. The are all related the elder one being the Aunt and the other two are niece and nephew. Problem is that the Aunt can't get along with the younger two. We have tried every thing, but they don't like each other.

Maine Coones not meowing loud HA! Mine was super loud and could meow louder than our TV, it made him really hard to ignore when he wanted food or to be let outside.

I'd take the Maine Coone, Ragdolls have zero fight or flight instinct in my experience. I know people like to get them because they're kid friendly but honestly if your cat scratches your kid they probably had it coming.

I recently found a Maine coon kitten that someone dumped behind a store.... His coat seems to be coming in silver and black . I really don't know much about the breed but I do understand about cats in general... I'm doing homework on the breed which is how I found this video, any tips, or information on the breed is much appreciated

Buying a bengal for me was the world's best choice for me ever. I have been battling stage 4 metastatic breast cancer now for almost a year. Since i been on treatment it took well over 8 months before i got my energy back and vitals signs blood work and all is looking on the up and up. I am in constant need for pain medication to be able to be mobile throughout the day and even into the night without chronic pain. One of the keys to my body feeling better was when my adult sons decided to buy me a bengal kitten. It was a total euphoria release and anti depressant instantly. It took much less effort for me to move around and get the job done daily once i had my kitten with me at all times. It is super easy to keep her active with all the options we have since my sons got my bengal kitten a play buddy they originally meant for me when they got me a mini dachshunds i gave back to my son to train but they together make a great play buddy that wears each other out. Then the exercise wheel and trail walks along with tunnels for my bengal to run through , climbing scratch posts with hammocks to swing and relax on. We have chew toys and by the time we are finished throughout the day my bengal has no issues falling asleep on my lap throughout the night. She has been the world's easiest pet of all pets. No issues with chewing any important things in the house and she is willing to learn the boundaries and rules. She is super confident and isnt sensitive to sounds and doesn't get her feelings hurt easily. I encourage people to get a Bengal if you have the time to invest into them. You just need to find a quality breeder that breeds Bengals that suit your needs since there are various of personality types that varies amongst the Bengal offspring. on a quick side note ~ the frequency of a cat purring is the same frequency of bones healing. That is one of the many reasons why being around purring cats often dramatically reduces all kinds of physical and emotional pain. Spending the entire night with a purring cat laying next to your body will often cause your body to wake up feeling less stiff and more docile and relaxed.

One good advice to someone who wants to get a 'coon would be to look for a Siberian-Coon or Norwegian-Coon. Those mixes retain _almost_ all the pros, the only thing is they aren't as big as purebred Maine Coons, but this is only visible in comparison: they're still vastly larger than any other house cat. The main benefit of such a mix is that they're significantly healthier, have no negative hereditary predispositions, and also live longer.

I have 2 Maine Coons..... One black female polydactyl named Venus and a Blue male polydactyl named Jupiter. They are complete opposites, he's super friendly and has never met a stranger and Venus is very reserved and bonded to only my wife..... We wouldn't trade them for the world. We also found a great raw food recipe for them that we make from scratch every 1-2 months.... very affordable and nutritionally complete.

I have a cat that appears to be part Maine coon but we're not sure. I'd like to see you do a video on Norwegian and Siberian forest cats. I love big fluffy kitties.
