In response to those who think plants are weeds to be mowed, if there was a way to produce evidential facts to support rain gardens verses infrastructure as a reliable source, that may sway those who may oppose the idea. Sure, a good water reclamation system would include proper installation, appropriate sizing and other measures to address the problems and concerns, maintenance, and a combination of ‘synthetics’ or man made materials (sewers and drainage systems and natural means. Providing facts on how much rain Wood Dale gets in a year, how much volume is ceded to the sewer systems via runoff and what native plants, rain gardens or other natural means can address and accommodate when it comes to the volume of annual precipitation Wood Dale receives and how much is or will be reduced by natural means will contribute to a more insightful dialogue. Dollars and cents are great and are a measurable necessity when it comes to any discussion, but those numbers should not be relied on alone to provide for a convincing argument for or against anything. Tell us why rain gardens work. Tell us how they work. Tell us the differences between those means and conventional measures of the hydrological process we have taken, why they matter and how they can address flooding. See to the comments and concerns that come up with a reasonable response steeped in a more broad scope of verity that is corroborated and substantiated by studies or previous efforts in order to provide for a more informed discussion and community.

Great meeting on development of Irving, but we really need to get a Menards or Home Depot in the area. Closest one is 20 min away. Second, the idea of hotels along Irving is great. Addison just built a WoodSprings Suites on 83 & Lake street and the parking lot is always full. We need to get some high quality hotels in our town. Bring in Hotels and restaurants in close proximity and we have a gold mind for tax income.

I agree with Greg from MG Brothers. Permit process does takes too long for the money they are paying. Customer service is no longer available in Community Development.
