Burnham Down at Kingdom Trails
Here I ride Burnham Down, up! Burnham Down is a double black diamond Trail in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Kingdom trails is known for its smooth flow and XC trails. Burnham down changes that up a bit. The trail features some roots, rocks and technical bridges that are borderline skinnies. The forest is so thick that even in the day, parts of the trail can be very dark as you will see. I am riding my Pivot Trail 429, and my girlfriend is on her Giant Trance 29 2. I've got a Vittoria Agarro Tire in front and a Mezcal out back. I love the combination for cross country riding, but the Mezcal struggles to maintain its shape on jumps and in hard corners. Earlier in the day I managed to burp the rear tire riding the newly redone Kitchel. #kingdomtrails #mountainbiking #vermont #nature #pivottrail429

Thanks! Great tips on the first aid kit and tire puncture tool. Did you try the Osprey Seral 4 or 7?
@@chillinvillin21 I haven’t, but friends of mine are using the osprey packs. Osprey makes some options with a little more room if that’s what you want.
Hi, would like an update as of July 2024. What is your barefoot boots now? Thanks ✌️
@@Dominick-b7z I will make an update soon.
These are the units that didn't complete the QA
Kinda seems that way.
Now I know I have a counterfeit. 😡
i was about to save grams for this.sheesh this is terrible.thanks man
Thx for review. Now I know I love new ones and I bought new one on reviwo (still available). Good this shoe evolves. I hope that in good direction :)
I'm trying out Silca Synergetic now, because I generally hat how loud my waxed chain gets after only 200km. Although it also sounds very dry in bad conditions, I think its still better than having an oiled chain that picks up most of that mud
I use silca synergetic on the indoor trainer and I like it a lot. I think I have almost 15k miles on a durace 11 speed chain that only rides indoors. I’ve found that, when it comes to the wax, the top of the line chains last a lot longer. Now that I’ve switched to duraace, I never get less than 100 miles between waxing.
Going off what i know. SRAM and Shimano rear sprokets are slightly offset. I know someone who had a simlar issue and had to get a spacer for the sprocket. Now it shifts like butter.
The overall spacing is slightly different, like a fraction of a millimeter, but the derailleur can account for a slight left or right offset. The issue I had was in the middle.
Got the one from Ali, had to grind all the edges to prevent it from damaging my carbon steerer. I also disassembled it and the axle is different from the original... Just ordered an original elastomer to try it out (I find the included ones to bee way too soft). If I like the stem I'll buy the original when I find a good deal.
okay nice. The aliexpress stem did seem functional, but unfinished. Sounds like you did some finishing work yourself haha. The elastomers between the real and the aliexpress stem seemed indistinguishable from each other, but hopefully you find one stiff enough.
Did the original elastomers make any difference?
You just saved me at least $270.00 USD. Thanks.
Great video. I wouldn't trust my life for $50 on that stem. With the reputation of Chinese knockoffs it's not worth the risk. That clamp difference is bad news. Torque down that clamps on your bars and it could crush it and not hold the bar securely. Keep the videos coming
I’ve recently started my research into the barefoot boot market. I found your review the least “influenced”. I’m curious if you ever did find another boot that you like… I also am interested to know if your opinion about the “new version” has maintained or changed?
Haha, yeah I have no brand loyalty. But I do really like the Xero Denver leather. It’s cheaper and I was able to add some level of waterproofing with leather treatment and wax. To answer your other question, I never bought another pair of Vivos.
Hi, do you sell used Vivobarefoot Tracker shoes? I would love to buy them on ebay. Greg
I think I donated them to be honest.
Looks like this cassette shifts good on shimano than sram
worst cassette we've ever seen and worked with
Vivo it's a very bad company. I had two paires and all of them was shitty. For me they just try to still your money the maximum they can but nothing more.
If u use it with a Shimano derailleur it might not work cause it’s designed to work with their cassettes. They’re cassettes got that hyper glide shit or whatever that they’re deraillures are made for lol. Idk what they did but it just doesn’t work with it lol
Xero shoes are trash just like Nike etc.
a lot of your issues (certaInly not all, but a lot) have to do with break in. the leather and sole especially.
Lmao. So it won’t jump gears, unless you don’t want it to? Absolutely amazing engineering ZTTO. Did you get a refund for this?
Appreciating your detailed, personal-experience review. I'm curious to know what you wound up doing? Did you return them? Did you give them a go for their 100-days? Did you find something else that you love?
Thanks for the video! Unfortunately the entire vivo line has taken a significant decline since the terra plana days. Those with the kevlar lined sole were the best. The fit and finish were perfect. Anything I bought in a 45 fit me. Fast forward to now, the shoes are significantly cheaper feeling while retaining the same or more price point. Their shoes are narrower across the board as well. Ever since their "foot survey" years ago the shoes are definitely more narrow. Also the entire vivo line stinks now and has way too much overlap. Back in the good ol' days we had an actual practical line up. Aqua's, Scott's, oak's, ultra's, neo's, ra's, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. Vivo had distinct shoes for distinct uses. The bloat of the current lineup stinks. And most have a slightly different fit. Really a shame vivo was the best.
Haha, 😂 regards. Thanks for sharing
I have this problem with many of my beloved shoes that I have worn out. You wont find the exact same feeling ever again and you do need to keep looking for a different model, because of war (competition, conflict) I guess. Its just a reality about human beings that we have to face. Also, please let me know if you found something.
I have an 11T-34T 11 speed ZTTO road cassette and I’ve had the most horrific shifting performance with a SHIMANO 105 derailleur and chain.
i can believe it, shimano has some magic going on in their cassettes.
Thanks. What boots did you go with?
I think your a little in your head on this one. The only meaningful differences are the shorter shoelaces and different soles. I bet the new soles don't wrap around the toe as much because of the new sturdier material. Which loosened up pretty quick for me. They're not as thin and flexible as the xero sneakers I wear every day, but they're alot more comfortable when walking over sharp rocks and did a good job saving my foot from a random nail on the ground.
I have the Xero Denver leather now. I love them. They're way better-softer, better ground feel, better leather and more durable and half the price.
Do you have a link ? I want to replace my Sram Pg 1230 cassette.
i bought a single speed adapter from ztto works great . and it should
I have no clue what the problem with your example is, but my SROAD 11-50 runs and shifts flawlessly perfect for the last three years and some hundred kilometers. It even shows next to no signs of wear. Maybe they are made in or by another foctory since then.
Amazing review, but how is the sizing on the old versus the new??? Did you wear the same exact size and would you suggest the same??? I’m in between a 43 and a 44 so I’m having a hard time trying to figure out which one to go with?? appreciate it so much
@@MrTanmancool thank you so much for your reply! I actually bought the leather ESC yesterday in a size 43. I noticed the normal tracker 2 fit a little bit smaller in the same size probably because of the leather. So for the tracker to I’m in between a 43 and a 44 and the 44 just feels too roomy. Thank you for your reply because I may try to find an original pair even though I know it’s probably impossible. For the record, the quality on the ESC is top notch and looks a lot better than the tracker 2! I appreciate any info at all. Thank you so much.
Looks like a counterfeit or something
So happy to find this review but wish I had seen it earlier. We bought two pairs of these boots, one for my husband and the other for our son-in-law. Both of them, after only a few months of wear are doing the same thing. They soles have completely pulled away from the leather and the material it's made of is crumbling. They look awful and the sole is no longer serving it's purpose making the leather pull up. I couldn't understand how people were showing three year old boots when ours didn't even last a few months. We're now going through the frustrating process of trying to return these boots. It looks like Vivo just recently got a new customer service company to handle their customers. Hopefully they're better than their last. I've spent countless hours of my life for this and just under $1000 Canadian for crappy boots. Any luck finding a pair of durable barefoot boots? We're still looking...
@@otpays8552 hmm tough to say, seems good so far after 3 months
Good comparison review, thank you.
I have the same cassette on my wife's Ghost Carbon. The bike had a SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain, with the NX derailleur having gotten "sloppy" at it's B-bolt mount and the cable routing pulley was also getting hard to turn. Anyways - it still shifted okay with the stamped steel NX cassette, just a bit lazy and imprecise and also had to be tuned after every ride or two. With the ZTTO cassette and the worn drivetrain I could not get shifting indexed properly at all. My local bike shop had a look and suggested a new derailleur. Instead, I replaced the B-bolt with the XO1 part, and also drilled out the old cable routing pulley's mounting rivet and installed the XO1's bearing-mounted pulley instead. Lastly I replaced the NX chain, which was stretched but theoretically still had a 1/3 of it's live left, with an XO1 chain. The result is perfect shifting. I think the ZTTO cassette needs a drivetrain with less sloppiness than that found in NX (and SX), it does not tolerate wear and tear, and the NX (and SX is certainly even worse) is kind of notorious for quickly developing a bunch of derailleur play.
okay that makes a lot of sense. Ultimately I swapped out the hub to an XT microspine, put an xt cassette, derailleur, shifter, shimano chain... the bike never skips a beat now. Perfect shifting no matter what my girlfriend does.
Thanks for making this video man. Had just ordered a pair of tracker II FGs and cancelled the order and got the originals on sale off Amazon. Hopefully they come w all the original quality materials they’re supposed to.
Dude u can still get the first ones fornchespermon Amazon I think for 180
What is your groupset and chain ?
