Them some long leggies
That’s a gorgeous male
The female can live up to 3 years, males unfortunately after mating die 😢 they both are good housekeepers for us humans and prefer the warmth in the fall which is why we see them in our houses, and the tricks and intelligence that is involved as to how they manage to get into our houses as big as they are is another story 🤔🕸 please don’t hurt or fear this spider, they just want to warm and will never hurt you ❤
Is that definitely a cardinal? I think that's a giant house spider. You can tell by the markings on the abdomen and lack of stripes on the legs. It's still a pretty impressive giant house spider though.
It could be a giant house spider. But these live in the garden in the rockery it's the same spider. They come in all the time as we leave the back door open most of the time.
Please reply
I did
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 thank you
Hi nick bit of a random question but out of roses or quality Street or heroes or celebrations what one do you like the most ?
Sorry mate, I don't get a notification for UA-cam. Celebrations.
Banger 🔥🔥
Thanks for the fantastic video. I was a bit confused as to what signal stopped the train @ 5.50 5:15. The signal @ 7.20 doesn't appear to move from horizontal (Danger) to clear the line. Could you please explain?
I wasn't the driver. I was lucky enough to get a cab ride. I do remember that we stopped as there was another train in the station. I can't remember what class it was, just a steam locomotive doing a shuttle service for the scouts. So yeah, that's why we stopped.
The signal that is white with the black line is for the first set of points that we waited at. The red signal is at the bridge coming into the station. If you look as we approach, we have a green signal. Sorry, the video isn't very clear, but we do have a clear signal.
What an elegant spider! I always liked the folklore around them, how old Cardinal Wolsey forbade anyone to hurt them in Hampton Court Palace because he thought they were good luck.
Huge favor to ask, but if you could, what are the measurements on each pipe? Circumference and length? Do you know what kinda metal its made of? I wanna build one of these instead of paying $700 online for one.
Lovely video , I enjoyed my visit to this railway last week and great to see how it has progressed from its early days.
Our railway company keep moaning that they don't have storage space for trains. This was one big yard they could have kept.
Absolutely brilliant ❤
OMG I nearly passed out with happiness, thanks for dropping the vid ! I might just surprise the wife with a trip to Spar Valley, I'm sure she will love it just as much as I enjoyed being in the lingerie section of Primark for half an hour last week.
"Promo sm" 💯
They get bigger than that one!
I was there at Hastings too! I was with my friend there with the big Tripod! 🤩
There were quite a few people. Can you see yourself in my video?
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 Yes! When 37418 came in, I was at the end of P3, and when it left, I was near the front of Caroline!
How did you find me?
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 Were you the guy with glasses? 🤔
No
That's cool
Thats because hes a fireman
that is Ore Tunnel!
Yeah, Coghurst Woods end.
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 You could have moved position to be level with the tunnel and filmed earlier to see it coming up the tunnel! It is 90% straight!
@pitchykoo_botsalot_yt I could do that with the other tunnels in Hastings. But who would really want to watch a video of waiting for a train coming through the tunnel? I'm not getting much footage atm, but I will be getting back out there.
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 At St Leonards Warrior Square, you can get 2 tunnels at once and at Ore you can get the other!
Was that 171 201 or 171 202?
Great video - just thinking that there are a lot of people that live in Uckfield and Crowborough and work or go to college in Tunbridge Wells there with a bit of joined up thinking couldn’t an agreement be made between Spa Valley, NR and Southern to run a week day morning and evening commercial commuter through service from Uckfield to Tunbridge Wells? Maybe NR could upgrade the Spa Valley section to allow slightly higher speeds
I think the problem with the whole disused rail system is that they keep building on it. They don't think to leave the track beds there for future rail as it gets demanded. I do believe the cuckoo line should have been let. Heathfield and Hailsham are now too big not to have their railway.
@nicksrailwaymad4271 And, of course, in many places BR or Network Rail sold off small parcels of land to deliberately prevent a line being re- opened by some other enterprise.
Nice sounds they sound like a class 20 locomotive or chopper as I call them you can't beat EE English electric engines from the 1960s nice dmu the thumper units 🥰
where you got this wind chime?
It was a bday present.
where they got it at?
Black Brooks Garden Centre. But you can get them online.
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 ok
gosh this thing is huge!!!!!!!
How late was this filmed in real life I love electrostars southern electric multiple unit in southern livery I remember playing it on train sim world 2 on PS4
This was a couple of years ago. It was the last train at Bognor Regis.
Largest UK spider, is the Raft Spider. But they are SO rare now, almost extinct. Theres a population that conservationists maintain in a pond down south, checked regularly, so they are still here. But I haven't seen one in the wild for over two decades. Used to find one every time my Dad and I took the dogs out near Spurn Point, many years ago. Sadly, not anymore. But yes, the Cardinal has the largest legspan, in excess of 13cm. But the Raft Spider has a larger body, far more dense (if shorter) legs, and they weigh more. They eat small fish and water bugs etc.
@sos2023-di4os Sadly, you not only came across as a confrontational person, but also ignorant, as the Raft Spider is the largest UK spider. Just as I said. Best of luck, love.
Raft Spider is the largest in the UK but is very endangered and only found in East Anglia and Wales, so for the Southeast where I'm from, Cardinal Spider is the largest.
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 Very diplomatic! ;)
@TheVanillatech what do you mean by that?
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 The Raft Spider exists, and lives in the UK, so it's the largest spider in the UK. If they were extinct, then the Cardinal would be the largest. Perhaps in the Southeast, and in Scotland, and in Northern Ireland, the Cardinal is the biggest. But in the UK - the Raft Spider is the biggest.
Great video mate saw these locos at Hastings. Have you got a job or volunteering at the depot now?
No mate. I'm on something else. I am trying.
How u get on the actual railway
Because what I volunteer on lives in that depot. This is with special permission. If I cross the border I'm trespassing on network rail grounds. This was in the depots boundary.
Oh alright that pretty cool
Lovely aren't they. Cardinals are mainly found down south of England, not sure if I have seen one?. Lots of giant house spiders too. They are easily mistaken for each other, the cardinal has more distinct markings from the very common Eratigena Atrica (giant house spider) which has less distinguished markings.
Cardinals have a larger leg span. In excess of 12cm for the fully grown males. Seen plenty up here in Yorkshire.
There was one living in my shed for a few year and I was surprised to see it tbh as I live in the north, thing got huge before its assumed death.
In reality, individuals are variable and most cardinal spiders aren't as big as the biggest ones recorded. A big giant house spider could be larger than an average cardinal spider. A big domestic house spider can be as big or slightly bigger than a small giant house, leading to a lot of confusion. The only way to know which one a large aglenid you find is to look at it up close for a few minutes. Furthermore there are more aglenids in the UK than domestic house, giant house and cardinal spiders, and large specimens of these less well-known aglenids can look quite similar to all of the above and throw you off.
@@goodsoup6085 Very likely a giant house spider. Big specimens can get as large as the average cardinal spider. I have personally seen male giant houses that were at least as large as the average cardinal, if not larger, although not all of them get this big. Unless you look at it up close for a few minutes, it's quite hard to tell which one it is for sure.
@cryoraptora303tm2 no it was most certainly a cardinal spider it lived in the shed for quite a while and had lots of time to look at it, we get loads of giant house spiders in this house, I can tell the difference and that is the reason I was supprised Its pretty easy to tell the difference in colour making its markings more pronounced.
Oh, memory, leave me alone. This was one of the numerous locations from which I filmed KESR whilst living in Hastings 2002-2006. On the particular day that springs to mind the Terrier went off towards Rolvendon and the USA came puffing up the hill. Video memories to last a lifetime...I should probably start my own channel...
Im from the uk
Thanks for taking us on the ride.
Hope you enjoyed it.
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 Had fun spotting various parts I know when popping down from Ashford for a visit.
Superb! Haven't ridden on this line since 1982, so really must make a return trip for the thumper.
There is a scouting headquarters call Adams wells forgotten how to spell it but know that place as been there for Staint Georges and other evert where get train in morning to high rock and walk on a small footpath to there .
Im glad you watched the video. The analytics shows that people only watch 30 seconds. I was very lucky to get that cab ride.
Lol scouts
¡Hola buenas tardes Nick! Great coverage of the K&ESR. I was over, visiting my daughter and grandsons in Tenterden last October and, took advantage of a Sunday return trip from there to Bodiam. I took quite a lot of video footage myself, as a passenger, whilst riding both of those trains. I’ll be putting it up, on my own channel, sometime soon. In the meantime, stay safe and well. Un saludo. Gary
Thank you. The video would have been longer if i didn't have work. That's the reason why I missed out Bodiam. I'm hoping that they get the connection in my life time.
in Australia these are small size spiders
This is small for a cardinal. The biggest ones are as big as some decent-sized huntsmen.
I know you have some big spiders, but by any standards these are still big. You're just being, i dunno pompous
And?
😅
I've done this a couple of times, the platform is platform 2 not 3.
Wow, that was some length of rail, thanks for sharing.
Makes me wonder how long the steel works is where it came from.

Spiders are awesome, their silk is a wonder of nature. I hate people who hurt or kill every spider they find! I feed spiders thing I find buzzing around the windows. Spiders are crafts men!
They are everywhere in my house. We have a false widow on the kitchen windowsill. He ain't doing any harm, so he will probably be there for the rest of his day's.
@@nicksrailwaymad4271 That's good, you respect spiders. I have accidently killed 2 spiders as I was on the toilet, I just didn't see them and I felt so bad each time. I have a spider somewhere in my bedroom and I aint going to evict it or hurt it, it will eat nasty bugs you don't want so it's doing me a service! I have always been fascinated by spiders and all the different webs they make. I wish more people liked spiders, there are too many people who stamp on them. I wish they could harvest large amounts of spider silk because it has special properties including an electric charge and antiseptic properties, scientists recon spider silk could stop a bullet so could be used for police, army and security body armour armour or used to build bridges.

Then again there are loads of brown recluses who live in my house. Their bite is nasty, though thankfully they’re very timid.

Was on St Leonards Station it powered out of the tunnel
Yeah i did see that video. I liked it, the Hastings area is hard to video as not much length of track before it either goes through a tunnel or round a bend.
