Considered the first part of the Annandale Way, this exhilarating 23km (approx) circular hike provides spectacular views everywhere. The route is marked clearly and consistently throughout.

The Lost Valley Glencoe Wild Camp Scotland

A wet and wonderful hike up past The Three Sisters to set up camp for the night in The Lost Valley. Although plagued with midges, the herd of deer that emerged from the mist to surround my tent for the evening made up for it.
Flamborough Cliffs Hike

I enjoyed a spectacular hike along part of the finest coastline in Yorkshire. The white chalked cliffs are amazing to view containing Thornwick Bay, Thornwick Hole and the Smuggler's Caves.
Scottish Cave Exploration Scotland

After a long arduous hike, an exciting time was had exploring the well known disused limestone quarry in Dumfries. This old mine has little small natural voids that have formed over time due to the weathering of rock. During this nocturnal activity, I managed to walk deep underground into the damp caverns before stopping for a hot cup of soup for warmth.
Troon Beach Trek Scotland

Troon beach is a long sweeping stretch of sand with spectacular views to the Isle of Arran. It is also the starting point of the Smuggler's Trail, a route used in the 18th century to transport contraband.
Germany Waldshut Camp

A few pictures from a 2 week camping trip in Waldshut, Germany. This involved a hike through The Black Forest and a few day visits into Switzerland. Very little pictures were taken due to a much needed break from all technological devices. I just thought I'd share some of the few I did take.
Loch Trool Wild Camp Scotland

A short hike up to Bruce's Stone, then down to the banks of Loch Trool to set up camp for the night. It rained all night with a flurry of snow in the early ours of the morning, followed by a magnificent sunny day. A relaxing, peaceful trip was had. One of my favourite parts of Scotland.

Tunskeen Bothy Overnight Stay Scotland

A few short clips compiled from an overnight stay in Tunskeen Bothy. Joined by fellow campers Buck Solo and Densum Ranger, the beautiful views surrounding the Bothy were enjoyed before settling down late into the evening, watching the dancing flames of a warm log fire.
Loch Enoch Wild Camp via The Merrick and Culsharg Bothy Scotland

This is a compilation of photos and clips from a recent hike and wild camp in the Galloway Forest Park. I began by climbing The Merrick then made my way across to Loch Enoch to set up camp on the far side beach. I attended Culsharg Bothy for a much needed hot drink. I remember Tunskeen being a LOT SMALLER and no sign of a path into the site.Mind you,thats the best part of 40years ago.Good to see its still to the fore.
They have made a lot of positive progress with surrounding paths. It's one of my favourite bothies. Beautiful.
