I hear ya, they actually got way more in depth, the main reason is so the pivots can be above rather than behind the motor giving it short chainstays to keep it lively. The comment about the aesthetics of the swingarm was after they got into the funtional reasons for it. In Francis' review he goes deep into all this. But making a bike look fast is nice too ;-).
