a few tips i can give you 1- never spam specials unless its ippo’s dempsey rolls, as they cost your stamina, which leads to your hooks, right straights, and uppercuts to be slower. 2- ippo has a pretty bad stance in this game, as well as a hight disadvantage, so i recommend swaying more and countering 3- going back to 1, stamina is very important, especially for movement. if you dont have good movement, you’d end up getting caught in straights. dashing also drains your stamina. 4- using strings (aka combinations, such as left straight right straight to left hook, or right straight to a left hook.), bear in mind that hooks and right straights costs stamina. 5. movement/positioning is also very important in this game. you will tend to notice that the cpu’s usually move from side to side to catch you off guard, in which what i’d normally do is either move to where they are going, or use left or right hooks when they move either direction. as for positioning, it also varies on the character, and unfortunately for ippo, he has a bad height and stance in this game as is. so i would recommend to create a distance between you and the opponent so that you can perfectly land attacks without them blocking it (that is if you are havung trouble.) 6. Practice with naoya ogawa to find your type of fighting style. ogawa is one of, if not, the easiest cou to go against, as his only rhythm is left right, move sideways, which will get you through the rhythm of how you think the game should work
