Is not baptism a witness to the public of a change that was made by a sinner from a sin life to a life of holiness. Usually baptisms took place in a river or a lake where the public ( the world is looking on ) which makes Christians a peculuar people.

A order of scripture needs to be considered unless we suppose the bible translators got the scriptures rearranged. For sure though, scripture cannot be contradicted.

This sermon needs to be heard by the Brandon, Florida church of God when they preached down the use of the movie camera, movie recorder and TV as evil and that no saint of God could own and use these devices as it would be a SIN. But today, the digital camera that offers motion picture capability is being used by the saints in worship service as well as elsewhere. The pastor and visiting evangelist preached the movie camera before the digital camera that uses no film came out was a sin. Churches of God should use the things God has made possible by mankind with the approval of God. Excellent sermon dear brother !

When Paul laid hands on them they received the Holy Ghost and spake with tongues and prophesied. How do you break down the speaking in tongues and prophesying ? What caused them to speak in tongues ( plural ) ?

Hello Brother Alvis 1. First Corinthians was written to sanctified believers. Nowhere is Paul talking about them letting unbelievers partake in communion. 2. The context of this passage in chapter 11 is a rebuke from Paul for the way the church was handling their suppers. They were humiliating the poor. 3. The word Unworthily is an adverb that describes the way they were eating. It does not describe their status of being saved or not. 4. Paul's instruction was for them to examine what they were doing. Verse 29 is the exam. If you eat without recognizing the body of the Lord, you are bringing judgment on yourself. His point was that this was not a festival, it is a solemn practice of the remembrance of the Lord's death. 5. If you examine yourself in relation to the Lord's supper and come to the conclusion that you are or were worthy of his death, you have missed the point. The supper is a remembrance of his gracious death for our unworthy souls.

Brother, this troubles me that you found the Wesleyan Brothers interpretation of communion doctrine to regard the saved and unsaved to eat of this bread and drink of this cup as acceptable. 1 Corinthians 11: 27 says differently about those who would partake of communion un-worthily. This verse would contradict the communion doctrinal interpretation of the Wesleyan Brothers.

On a beautiful day on the weekend, a big ball game is ongoing and a church of God's people is having a revival. The ball stadium is filled to capacity but the church of God's people has many empty pews. Only those who have real joy is those who have joy in the Lord God and had rather be in the house of God rather than enjoying the pleasures of the world.

All that thrills my soul is Je'sus, he is everything to me. I seek to please God and have joy unspeakable.

When the devil approaches us to engage in something that is pleasurable in the world, we refuse to engage because we know it would not be pleasing to God and we would lose the joy we have as living as a Christian.

Having a license to have relationship with good people, must we not have a definition of what we mean for " good people "?

There is a need in the home and in church teaching our children about the birds and bees. The youth up to the middle age in the world see no harm to abortion murder. How will they know unless the Word is published by evangelizing the lost? God sees a complete body at conception but is impossible for mankind to see it. The world only looks at what can be seen through man's inventions. Young people need to learn about the sanctity of life at conception, a miracle performed by God himself. Our young people need to know how to dress modestly so as to not to cause the act of lusting to occur when in the world. Hold a newborn baby and tell me you can't see a child so precious ? They are precious to our Lord Je'sus Christ ! God is love.

Another comment about me being criticized, I listen and see if it's constructive criticism. When I'm criticized about my belief in the scriptures, I put my trust in God to reveal to me whether I am wrong or not.

With God on our side, who can be against us ? There is no greater power than God who we place our trust in to keep us from all evil.

Good sermon, thank God for forgiveness. He has said, after I have forgiven you of your sins, I have cast them into the deepest sea to remember them no more. In hearing Neamiah say to the people to stop the crying, it was that the people had offered the sacrifices for their sins, but there was a remembrance, because the blood of the animal sacrifice could not take the sins away. There is an old hymn that is titled, " He Took My Sins Away". Satan is notorious for making us remember our old sins and try to make us think we were not really forgiven.

I would not like to be confused about the Holy Spirit. Do we not all receive the Holy Spirit at conversion ? Then after conversion there are the gifts of the Holy Spirit that may be received. In Romans it says that if we have not the Spirit, then we are none of His. At conversion we have all of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, do we not ?

The sermon today lines up with my devotional reading last night at 2 Peter Chapter 1. And, will make us as believers, assured that we will please God by keeping his commandments at Matthew Chapter 7:21-23.

Excellent sermon. Now, let us go forth and find someone in need of the Lord and minister to them and then thank God for the opportunity. Has anyone felt like this, that when you come to worship, you see just the same faces ? There are many souls in need of being reached right in the vicinity of the church. God, help me to do my part in ministry to you !!

Having compassion on others is an act of mercy too. The world around us has been severly hurt by the deception that Satan has generated in the heart of mankind. Oh church of God, thou mother of the free. Knowing Je'sus Christ sets a sinner free. Do God a favor by showing favor on others, which will surely please God.

Well, a good sermon and I would add that there are many voices out there in religion. You may stumble upon them or you may scroll on the internet and see a headline about the Christian Life. Yes, these are voices that you may stop and listen to, but beware of their message for a false teaching which is contrary to your Christian living under the teaching and preaching of the church of God. Some of these voices will tell you as a Christian, you cannot live without sinning. They will tell you that you cannot lose your salvation. They will just plain out tell you lies where they contradict scripture. God has said, not everyone will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, even those who will say, but Lord, Lord, have we not done many miracles in thy name ? But, Je'sus knowing their heart that they were sinning, said, depart from me ye workers of iniquity. These are those who teach and preach you cannot live free from sinning. If you like me have heard these voices, be ready to fully defend the gospel of Je'sus and all of his written word. I thank God for the church of God. Denominationalism are fractions of the Catholic religion that hold to many practices of this false faith. Just be of the church Je'sus built, he being the chief cornerstone.
