You know, I do find it really quite freaking dumb that they decided (the devs) to try and make the thing "airborne" when all you really needed is to just handwave everything with some, well we got a huge local contamination that spread everywhere and THAT was how everything went to shit in a hand basket within a matter of weeks. Because having some virus you are "immune" to then killing you of a bite is freaking retarded. Moreover, when they *can* do some TWD type thing with it, let's face it this isn't the walking dead, you won't reanimate when you died of pneumonia or a sucking chest wound GSW from a rather trigger happy (or trolly) player. SO I do think the whole entire "it went airborne and these survivors are immune" thing ought to be retconned wholeheartedly. If there's three things that annoys me in all zombie media, it is (in order of irritation): fast turning zombies; fast moving zombies; "it went airborne but muh immunity but it still works like standard zombie bites since reasons" which I might add as to the last point, the whole reason TWD handwaves this is because they say ALL brainstems are reactivated, only the survivors have the latent disease which works by reactivation NOT contamination and that (quite realistically ngl) the bite wound itself from a basically walking human corpse causes such massive catastrophic infection it produces a cytokine storm which always is fatal. I mean, they made this stupid by then trying to continually retcon deaths and plot armour characters with the stupidest shit like but muh radiation, OH but it solely works with THIS particular character because reasons radiation kills everyone else (like da fuq? Nothing in expanded TWD makes any sense frankly, partly why it is stupid and the writing so bad after the first few seasons of EVERY. SINGLE. SPINOFF. *EVER*.) So in other words basically the game just doesn't make any sense at all period with an airborne virus and the sole reason the devs even included everything from the gaseous strange odour to the falling stars etc. was because it was cutely giving a nod to lots of other zombie media, it doesn't mean it should actually explain anything away though which frankly given the time to collapse you the player are not going to know this anyway. It could well easily be that July 4th and the falling comet was all mere coincidence. The allegations of lightning with no rain? It actually happens. It was all just people (falsely) attributing and attempting to attribute a handful of meaningless unrelated things like superstitious peasants, for starters the outbreak wasn't even really beginning on the fourth of July, that date was simply the most important date to Kentuckians and was when they noticed/heard about it so people try and say Monument Day began with the 4th of July when really shit started happening a few days prior. So it wasn't terrorists. It COULD have been an escape from the lab. Military testing site gone wrong (this actually happened in Russia and Britain with Anthrax, and the USA probably did stuff we don't even know about). The gas thing may have been an unrelated break, this is in reference to Trioxin from Night of the Living Dead, a great film btw scared me shitless as a wee lad, so keep in mind the comet thing was similarly in reference to The Walking Dead. What I am saying is, the virus isn't airborne. It never was, and this was partly that dipshit president and his dipshit military all catastrophically fucking up in a cascade failure then attempting to pass the buck for basically civilians only having the flu being summarily executed, for actually infected survivors making it past quarantine (they was trying to stop the Panic, if people knew the infected was getting by already they would have rioted, I mean worse than already). The virus is bloodborne, possibly waterborne too we don't know, but it isn't airborne. It just spread really really fast because our authorities sucked that much ass it managed to breach any and all global quarantines and with an equally idiotic TP hoarding public proceeded to spread so rapidly it only took three weeks of exponential growth (somehow?) to spread so far like crazy it left billions dead. Also my headcanon is that both the numbers dead is being exagerrated (we wouldn't know, everything is dead air, no electric, for all I know there's 2 billion left alive) and that what we are being told is, like everything else related to the Event and the Exclusion Zone, just a bunch of horse rubbish, it is *lies* the virus has already been spreading they'd simply managed to keep it under wraps until July. I also strongly suspect people had already been reanimating in June elsewhere in the world, only they effectively gaslit the public and kept us unaware by blending it in seemlessly with all the other local news about homocides, "bath salts", "public disturbances" and "just a flu" and the like, until it became too difficult to contain in Kentucky for some reason, probably signalling a rather bydlo and haphazard response on part of our Kentucky state leadership and disorganized nepotistic military chain of command, leading to a much more public catastrophic outbreak there, leading to news and proof of it spreading to elsewhere in Los Angeles and New York and London where it already had been spreading only no one truly new in the chaotic urban jungle where someone can flip out kill three people and no one bats an eye. So it was only when Louiseville was lost that the coastal urbanites really paid attention to what was already going on but by then it was too late for them too, and it also by then had already jumped borders repeatedly especially because some dipshits had kept flights going from muh economy and thus ensuring the future quarantine efforts were going to be useless because they already made their bed and need to lie in it, they chose eating dollars over the health of their citizenry, now they all will eat dirt together.

38:30 you could just sleep in the house next door in a bed not feel pain, watch tv and eat cooked food and gain a lot of xp, but ok

I'd absolutely make one of the brick houses my first base, 2nd floor, tv, fridge, stove, washer and dryer, easy to block off street, but of course you could just stay in the dirty, not defendable hole you live in and keep sleeping on chairs

17:00 you could just pick up the whole curtains and add to your windows as curtains, not ugly sheets

16:00 I'd actually suggest this house as a first base, since it has more stuff in it you need (tv, fridge, stove).
