Thank you for sharing. I'm hoping this will work this time. I tried this with sandpaper before but the epoxy did not make the scratches go away. Still saw hazy spots from the sandpaper, even after wiping it down thoroughly, then applied my next coat. Idk I'm sure I did something wrong. Idk. 😢 But I'll try it again
Thank you this is an amazing! This video brought me peace and educated me. I guess I’m not alone, lol I have hope lol 😊
Thank you thank you!! 🎉 First video out of hundreds that has really addressed the issue.
This video was so helpful, I just subscribed. Thank you for the valuable information.
What to do if the vinyl got epoxy onder it and dry with vinyl sticking out😢
Depends on how bad… If it is like letters… I have trimmed off the part sticking out and a light sand.. put new vinyl on to fix the lettering and another coat of epoxy…. To prevent in future… make sure vinyl is adhered really well on all edges… a few tips are 1) have a good surface to apply vinyl… I will put a thin coat of epoxy over painted or glitter surface first and stick vinyl on it.. 2) wait longer (several hours) after putting on vinyl before applying epoxy I have less issues.. Hope this helps!
Thank you
I'm so glad I've found this video, I've been looking as well. It's so frustrating to put the final coats and you have bumps and lumps
"Level" on the top side or the bottom side? If it's level on top, it's slanted on the bottom, causing epoxy to run towards the base of the tumbler. Also, you showed us the tumbler with the epoxy lump on the base due to uneven tumbler on spinner, but you didn't mention how to correct it once that dry.
Hello! My tumbler has only 2 areas with bumpy glitter do I need to sand the entire cup or just those areas? Thanks
Just the bumps areas is fine
I'm trying to do my 1st ever tumbler & my tumbler looks like Freddy Kruegars face. Can you tell me what I did wrong?
Thank you so much for the video. I've been doing tumblers for a while now and this is the first time I couldn't figure 5he problem out. I want to make it stop happening.
I am having pits in my cup I need help even trouble with the resin can you help p!ease
Absolutely beautiful job!
Thank You!
I think all the ornaments turned out really cute. You know where I live. lol!
so nice, resin is fun stuff You did gooooooood
What a great result. I love them all! Great little gifts!
Karla, these are lovely. I have never been tempted to play with resin.
Very fun! I love the snowflake one the most. Very sparkly :)
Very pretty.
Love the ornaments. And your plaid stencil
These are adorable. Great Project!
this was so helpful. thank u
Thank you, very helpful 😊. Can I ask where did you get your turner from?
It is from Absolute Programming.. unfortunately he closed his Etsy shop and doesn’t sell them anymore.
Hello I had raised bumps on my glitter tumbler I sanded them down and now my glitter has some dull spots do I put more glitter then more epoxy or do I just put more epoxy which in turn will bring back the glittery look?
Just putting on epoxy will return the shine.
thank you I had a few smudges and was freaking out! appreciate your help
My mugs keep mushrooming at the bottom - trying to keep that from happening
Check the level of your turner and the cup on the turner…. If a large amount pools to the bottom… it is all about cup angle
Love your work!! Big USIHITAT fan!!
Thanks Libby! Josh is great!
That tumbler reminds me of the tootsie roll commercials from when I was young! I love those commercials! Beautiful cup, thank you for sharing.
Today for the first time my epoxy 5 min after mixing felt like gum. I was like WTF now it's lumps everywhere 😤😫😭
Thank you for this, i was having a hard time with epoxy!!!
How do you avoid bumps in the bottom of the cup? My cup doesn’t sit level and it irritates me!
Thanx!!! I had been feeling super disappointed with how my cups have been coming out
Thank you so much for this ❣️❣️❣️
I have a bump on bottom how do i fix that
Sand the bump down or shave off with exacto (if possible)…. Recoat with thin coat of epoxy to finish
YES!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Very useful thank you
Hey! Could you tell me what I’m doing wrong and what should I do if the epoxy won’t stay at the top of the cup around the rim?
Check the level of the cup on the turner and the machines level.. this happens when the cup is angled away from the rim.. it can be very slightly out of level
@@whatifnc5617 thank you!
I’m doing my very first tumbler ever, and I was getting discouraged because whenever I would sand my cup it would scratch the epoxy even though I was sanding lightly. Nobody else’s video explains that it’s Normal when sanding.
Hi my question is about a glittered tumbler. After my first coat of epoxy and sanding, can I place my decal and then apply second coat of epoxy or must I apply second coat, then decal and another coat of epoxy after the decal thus making it three coats?
If the surface is smooth, you can apply the decal and then a second coat… good luck!
Hey there I’m new to this whole Tumblr thing crafting which I’m starting to enjoy. Thank you for the video I really appreciate it but I just have one question after you send it down what do you wipe it down with? Is it just regular wet paper towel or is there something special I should use? Thank you so much.
It was a paper towel with some isopropyl alcohol
Great video thank you! Do you have any tips to avoid dust or little fibers from landing on tumblers while drying?
Hi! I would just ensure that there isn’t anything blowing air towards the cup turner… I,e, fan or vent. And place it in a room where there is no one moving around in the room…. Example - I tend to out my final coats on late in the day - so that they dry overnight while everyone is sleeping.
@@whatifnc5617 thank you very much! I actually always do them overnight and did think about the AC vents being one of the reasons I have issues. I ended up purchasing a large plastic storage box and it worked great last night ❤️
Thank you for this!! Very helpful!!
Thank you , finally someone talks about the problems, every video is about how beautiful they work is but nobody mentions anything about the issues 😞
So appreciate this Video thank you ❤
I always sand between layers. But always my last layer I end up with bumps still. I have such a hard time with bubbles. I even use a heat gun…
Have you tried letting your epoxy settle a little after stirring?? Sometimes letting it sit for 5-10 minutes reduces the bubbles
@@whatifnc5617 yes i do that. I’m wondering if it’s just the epoxy I am using.
@@tiffanysavoie4847 I use Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast, but recently started using their Amazing Quick Coat.. I buy directly from them as the quality from big box stores doesn’t feel the same… not sure if it is storage or length on the shelf… IMO I am really liking the new quick coat!
Just found your video. Still learning. What grit sand paper do you use? And what epoxy are you using? Again, thank you 😊
I usually just pick up an assorted pack… but use 120 or 220 the most… just be cautious that you don’t sand down too far and ruin your design…. Hope this helps
Also I use Alumilite epoxy… just started using the quick dry with awesome results!
Thank you so much! This helped me so much, Also I love your nails❤
Im catching up on Josh's old vids so Im late to this party. The cup is awesome and you could tell he absolutely loved it... Very nice unique cups. You do wonderful work....😁
So you didnt sand the whole cup ? Just problem areas right?
Mainly the problem areas… you can do a very light sand of the entire cup as well
Where can we buy these tumblers?
If you are interested - reach out to me on Etsy or Facebook. I sell tumblers for $25 each - and they can be personalized (colors, names etc)
So cool! I never knew one could make their own stencils like this. I bet the software is a small fortune.
The software is free.. it is the laser machine that can be expensive!
