    Just curious. After all this time, have you changed your mind at all? I've been using only oil, but I'm going to swap over to grease becausd I just don't think oil sticks enough.

    • @Ryan-sl2oe
      @Ryan-sl2oe 18 днів тому

      @OGbqze I use grease exclusively. I use the grease in the video for my pistols and red Mobil bearing grease on my rifles. Either grease will work, but I shoot pistol more often, and cleaning is easier with the light stuff. As mentioned, I live in a high altitude desert. It is extremely arid here. When I lived in more humid environments, my gun care was much different. A great application for oil in a humid environment was running a bit through the barrel with a swab. Just be sure to clean the oil out prior to shooting. It definitely keeps rust at bay. Also.... I had to do a lot more maintenance in those humid environments. Gun care here is easy, and the grease has much more staying power.

      @Daniel-p4y weird design. I'm guessing it's to prevent damage to the ECM. I think their electronics are poorly built, and this is how they mitigate the risk of damaging the computers. It's not a terrible idea. This issue was just the tip of the iceberg. I had to wire resistors into the tail lights so I could run LED's. The factory lights were over amped and would blow bulbs every few weeks.

I'm very unimpressed with the electrical systems in Korean cars. If it's not the temp sensor, message me again, and I'll pull up a wiring diagram to see if I can drum up another solution.

    Kohlers did have clean out plugs in the fan cover . Gives u good access to heads . A long end shop air blower 24 inch and have A 90 DEGREE BEND in the end . Dont forget the factory cooler mounts where the oil filter goes . Every 500--600 hrs prefer remove flywheel , this area gets packed with dirt around the windings that charge the battery . Every 500 hrs remove starter completely strip , separate armature shaft from throw out gear Clean out and relube with graphite grease a very small amount on sleeve bushing ends and throw out splines . Normal grease attracts dust . Polaris have a tube as well as spares shops . Oils temps are best watched as frequent 235--250f are seen when running hot from my 42 GHS and 52SD in 90f and above ambient weather . I fitted 10 inch fan and 11 x 8 x 1.5 cooler dropped temps 190-200f . This eliminated blown head gasket / blown intake gasket / leaky valve covers . The increase oil capacity kept oil cleaner between service The Pcv system you upgrade to brass mesh instead of horse hair which degrades and does not stop oil sucked into carb . use an old auto breather cut it open to access . The pcv hoses were natural rubber which degrades Kohler had orange high temp rubber replacements . If these tear they allow dust inside your motor . The Briggs Vangard 18 hp has none of the issues

    After working on my 2003 Toyota Avalon for months, I finally figured out what was causing the headlights and interior lights to pulsate/flicker. The voltage across my battery terminals measured anywhere from 13.3 to 15.3 volts when the car was running, and this should not be the case. The voltage should be very steady, around 14.1 to 14.3 volts. It was the voltage regulator in the alternator that was causing the problem. I removed the aftermarket alternator from the vehicle and had it bench tested at two different auto parts stores, and both said that it tested out good, and satisfied all of their test parameters and test requirements. I then went to a junkyard and pulled an OEM 2003 Avalon alternator from a junked car. I also had it bench tested at one of the same auto stores, and when they ran it it said “failed” during the first attempt to test it. When another guy set it up and re-tested it, it came out “good”. A second re-test also showed that it was good. I mounted it in my car and the flickering was immediately GONE. So the bench testing was not able to isolate a voltage regulator that was going bad. And apparently some of the brand new voltage regulators that are being installed in alternators today are defective right out of the box! Since the test stands at these auto parts stores are unable to identify a wonky regulator, you’re left with the impression that the one you bought is good although it might be bad. This can lead to a lot of confusion. Several years after making the repair the problem is still solved.

      @@Ryan-sl2oe Just checked those fuses and they seem fine. Lights on dash still don't turn on. When I use the turn signal it turns un hazard lights. It only lights up the dashboard when I hit the brakes (not always).

      @Marcelo Carvalho sounds like an electrical short. That's tricky to track down. Most likely a short on the brake. Sorry I can't be of more help but without looking at it, I can't begin to diagnose it.

      @@Ryan-sl2oe Thanks again for your help. I’ll check the other fuse boxes and look for blown fuses. I hope it’s an easy fix. Service here in Canada is extremely expensive. I wish I was a technician 😂

    Where did you end up getting the fuse from? I’m trying to find one now.

      I can't recall where I ordered it from but I saw an assortment if them at O'Reilly Auto Parts the other day.

      Ok thank you. Yeah I bought one recently last month and it’s been having a few issues with the electronics. I think I blew another fuse by trying to use the power outlet in the trunk… 😂

    I love geisseles grease. They call is 0000 grease because it's super thin. I love it, it works like an oil but sticks like a grease. I left my Walther in a cold garage overnight where it got to - 15f and the gun still functioned flawlessly.
