How it is hard to act in France in perspective to change social représentations about persons catogorized ofdisability, specially in the so-called Mental Health. The uncrpd model is not introduced in society and in its media and institutions. The human sciences like psychology, sociology and the rest are unable to change their paradigm, infected by bio-medical réductionism. The uncrpd model opens up broad perspectives for the transformation of these representations. Thank you for this Didactic Approach .

Psychosocial model is really confusing. There are social model and human rights model, legitimized by the UN CRPD. Once you get terms added to it, professionals start speaking about biopsychosocial model of disability, which is totally a mess, especially if it aims at substitution of human rights model. Human rights model is the umbrella, and it is perfectly capable of combining psychological, biological, and social factors, but putting the person's choice above all that.

I've had mental health issues all my life and i feel brushed under the carpet and forgotten about, Psychiatrists don't even call or check you're still alive even, appointments over the phone with mental health care professionals are so difficult, that's if you can get an appointment that is and they remember your appointments which they haven't done with me, I've gone months now with no contact whatsoever from doctors, CPN, Psychiatrists etc, the last couple of years has been Hell for most people but when you suffer with mental health issues it's so much harder and having to move back into my parents house I'm totally isolated and confined to a bedroom surrounded by clutter and junk as this is the "spare room" that basically translates to "fill to the rafters with shit that we're never going to use ever again but can't throw it away" I swear, I live every day surrounded by useless hoarded junk with no floor space apart from a path from the bed to the door, it's certainly no way to live yet the council or housing association said no to me when I tried to put my name down on the waiting list, 30 years of back breaking labour, paying all that money, Tax and national insurance paid into the system, That very same system is the one that offers little help and turns it's back on UK Citizens in their darkest hour yet hands out flats, mobile phones, money, transport etc etc to foreigners in the blink of an eye, no waiting lists for them, it's so unfair, and just to clarify, it's not the immigrants that's the focal point here, they haven't done anything wrong, i have no jealousy or bitterness towards anybody seeking a better life and if that means leaving their own country and going to another country that's got nothing to do with me, live and let live i say, it's our governments, housing associations and councils pushing it's own people to the bottom of the scrapheap and putting immigrants before us just to tick boxes and meet targets...

I didn't feel anyone recommended going off medication. I noted that getting off of a med was something Amy identified as a health goal. it seemed to me as if Amy was supports to first focus to identify factors in her life .. some factors are helpful and some may feel like a problem, a trigger or a stress... then she had help to form a plan, with goals. Goals can be adjusted along the way. Changed or broken down in more steps and details :)

They didn't recommend them getting off medication. They gave examples of different possible scenarios. It depends on the individual and their specific circumstances.
