All members of Cold Chisel knew the band was bigger than the individuals. They respected each other and it shows. Like any band there were tensions but this clip is a great illustration: notice how when Jimmy has finished it's Ian who leads the band and they end on his cues, and that's a common theme in their performances.

No nasty break up. They are still a tight nit group and trying to do a 50 yr tour but Jimmy Barnes has had to delay as he has had surgery. Jimmy Barnes is now in his late 60’s. I was 5 yrs old when this concert was on. I’m 46 now 😂😂😂😂

You should check out the live concert of Cold Chisel at Rockpalast in Germany in 1982 with the boys doing "Goodbye (Astrid Goodbye)" - ua-cam.com/video/7SKIvq6i96g/v-deo.html. It's one of their best head-banging tracks, with Jimmy again finishing the set with a bottle in his hand as he walks off the stage.

Their friendships lasted but there were rifts back in those days, I think mostly between Jimmy and Steve, the drummer. I'm not saying that lead to the breakup, but they didn't always see eye to eye. Hard touring, hard rocking, plenty of alcohol, some swinging arms is not surprising. Disagreements, yes. Friendship destroying, no.

G'day mate, Jimmy explained in a interview how he can do that all night without damaging his voice and it centred around him having a camera put down his throat. I can't remember the details but there was something unique about his vocal chords. I truly hope you can successfully search for that interview because I believe you will find it fascinating. I'm sorry I'm not more help in that regard. And yes, they are all still friends and are going to be doing gigs celebrating 50 years. Loved the reaction, take care

Both Anthony and Tina have Italian blood and can speak fluent Italian, which makes this even more beautiful as I think it helps you to feel the lyrics better when you understand them. Anthony has sung this song on his own at so many special events it’s almost his signature song ❤ also- I do see your point. Anthony was straight out of Australian idol with very little to no formal training here- he was fresh to stardom. Tina has been training and singing since she was a little girl and is a true professional so getting that balance right is definitely something Anthony got better with over time.

You misheard the Aussie announcer, mate! Go back & listen to it again, Tina's surname is pronouned Ah-ree-nah (like sports arena). And Anthony's surname is pronounced Cah-lee-ah. Beautiful duet from Tina and Anthony. Anthony's solo version of the Prayer was a huge hit in Australia for him. He sang it on Australian Idol 2005. There's another amazing Aussie version of The Prayer with Guy Sebastian and Bella Taylor Smith, The Voice Australia 2021. It's only short but packs a punch. Nice reaction.

Another great Australian artist l think you might enjoy is Kasey Chambers, she a country singer-songwriter who went solo in 1988 after performing with the family group Dead Ringer Band( with her father Bill, mother Diane and brother Nash) for 10 years. Since going solo, she has released 12 studio albums and hit singles; her 2022 version of Eminem's Lose Yourself is something to be heard, you might have problems initially recognising the song due the difference between them. Take look, you won't be disappointed.

John is a genuine entertainer, who feels the quality ad essence of a song; where he is being serious or comical, he delivers in volumes and emotion. Even in John's(Johnny Farnham) early teen pop career, he was involve in musical theatre, pantomimes and tv shows; he evolved as a consummate and professional entertainer, who interacts with his audience no matter what he is doing. John approaches everything he does with enthusiasm, I don't think I have ever seen him performing without there being a warmth from him; John's mantra is, he performs for the audience NOT to them. There is mutual respect shown by everyone. A true gentleman of showbiz.

John first recorded his version of The Beatles classic song Help in 1980, and performed it a a Royal Charity Concert in front of Queen Elizabeth II at the Sydney Opera House that same year; John Lennon was given a copy of Farnham's version, Lennon was heard to say that "this is how the song was meant to be sung". Lennon had intending to release his own rock version of Help, but he was killed later that year, in December.
