Are these shoes ok for 10k?
It depends. If you are a complete beginner, have any types of leg injuries, back pain or neck pain, I would look more towards a high cushioned alternative like the Nimbus or Kayano from Asics. If you are pain-free and used to 10k's, then absolutely.✅
I have owned 3 pair of these….closest to perfect shoe there is….balanced mix of cushion and performance….all other brooks nitrogen shoes are too firm! Got the last pair for $100 bucks. Got 500 miles on first two pair….wear beautifully

@@RunIQ_ Then first time I tested, I thought WOW, they are insane. Now my easy run from 4:50 to 4:30 km pace.
But how do they compare with SG3 or 4 in terms of the soles? I could not possibly care less if the midsole makes them last longer if I am going to hate them. Hated SG5 because of the changes in the soles. The weight never bothered me and I would take SG3 back any day.

Oh Boy is right. They were my first pair of modern high-energy shoes, (I'm 68) I don't jog or run 12-minute miles. Just run hill repeats. Once I crested my first hill the energy to continue at a fast pace was there. There is something special in their mid-soles. 😎
I preferred the alphafly 1 over its succesors - I'm not sure but it might be the drop. I also like the Metaspeed line... also a lower drop

It is a shallow shoe and you cant get a decent lockdown at the heel. All Altras are not deep enough and too much heel slip!
I used the escalante racers Boston Marathon for my first marathon and it was uncomfortable. I have paradigms in my rotation and it works.

I have flat feet total collapse of the arches. This running shoe has stabilizers called guides and since I have narrow feet these fit snug.

The p6 are lighter, and planning to try the p7. In my.rotation, I use Brooks GTS 22 which after a couple of runs are comfortable. I do try different stable running shoes just because my feet being narrow and flat.

@@dig8195 I think it would be beneficial to mix the two. I have improved overall since I started testing a lot of different shoes. Because I never get used to- or dependent on just one type of footwear🙂

interesting because when I ran in H.S. 20 years ago the fad was all low stack and light as possible. I love running in those shoes and ran pretty fast. 17:05 pb 5k. I just got back into running at 38 years old and the stack height goes crazy

@@RunIQ_ I can't remember the name cause it was so long ago. I just remember they were Nike and felt like slippers with minimal foam. All I know is they were light as hell with no heel drop. Now that I'm back into running anything below a 8 mm drop puts too much strain on my achilles and calves 😂

It isn’t a cheap shoe but with all the foam it will not die for a long time and will probably last about 2 times more compared to shoes in the $150-175 range. It’s like getting 2 shoes for that price.
I don't think it will 2x the "foam-life time". That would be dope for marketing though! And even if it lasts longer, I would like more speed and ground contact. (personal preferens)
