2014 New Year's Address by Emperor Akihito of Japan
This was the last New Year's Address that the Emperor made for 2014. There are only 2 times a year that people are allowed into the inner areas of the imperial grounds and get a chance to see the Emperor speak, which are on his birthday, Dec. 23rd, and on January 2nd, when the New Year's Address is given. Pretty interesting!

Here is a video of a really cool tank of a garden of eels that are coming out of the sand. I'd never seen anything like it before. They almost look like plants swaying together until you look closer. Really interesting! This is at the amazing Churaumi Aquarium in Okinawa, Japan.

The JASDF demonstrates a helicopter rescue demonstration with a JASDF UH-60J Black Hawk. Interesting stuff! The USAF did not participate in any flight demonstrations because of the Sequestration from Congress.

The JASDF demonstrates their Vulcan Air Defense System against two Mitsubishi F-2s, which are based on the F-16 and manufactured with Lockheed Martin for the JASDF. I did not catch the name of this artist, but he is supposed to be pretty well known in Japan, and he comes back pretty often to play at this summer festival. Pretty good stuff!

What’s the soundtrack? This attraction was amazing. Still remember it and it was 4 years since I visited the museum. The zoetrope was a first for me and very impressed by it.

When I tried to take a snapshot of the lifesized Catbus, a japanese staffer started yelling at me angrily with her arms crossed in front of her chest. I ws tempted to do the same with this Zoetrope but I was fearing I'd get booted out of the museum. Was there back in 2008. Great memories.
