I’m at a conundrum. I’ve been drawing all my life, yet only recently have I started to take it seriously. I feel like I kind of have a grasp on shapes. I can draw them, at least, and not have them look deformed (mostly). And when I draw animals from the side, they look fine. Yet I have not grasped 3d space yet. I am totally lost on shading, and cannot put anything more complex than a basic shape into perspective. I have no idea where to go from here, especially being self-taught. Do you have any advice for someone like me?

Anime wolf characters with aspects like spiky hair and fantasy details are very common in the internet, but normally they stay as pictures that you pass by online, comics, at most. I think this is the first time we're gonna see them actually animated, telling a story at a profesional level, with all that it implies... And the fact that it is mostly the passion project of a single person is really inspiring (I have already said this but I don't think I can say it enough) Even if I don't like some aspect of the final prodcut, like the story or the characters I am still gonna love the project itself! Can't wait to see these guys and find out what story they tell

I just want to say that i am so deeply inspired by how far you have come. I have a anime-wolves-with-magic type world and story that ive been tossing around into the back of my head since i was little, and ive been drawing characters and writing little story fragments for a minute, just starting to toe the line of making my most beloved characters more animation friendly. this is super, super cool to see, ok? you putting in the work, figuring out a cohesive process and sharing what you have learned not only proves that it is possible , but also offers a helping hand to those of us seeking to grow in similar ways. The character designs, expressions, style, and backrounds are extremely charming. I love the Storyline too! Are you open to recieving fanart at some point? also, let me know if you need some sound design for your series! My partner is extrordinarily talented with musical motifs, sound effects, editing, etc- i'd be happy to get you two in touch if you would like to see some examples of what he can do.

Hey Valkorey, I just want to say that these logs have been very fun to watch and you talking about your project passionately has given me motivation to get my animal shape shifter manga off the ground!! As a fellow animator who is currently working on my own animation MVs and the like, I know for sure that animation is such an ambitious medium to pursue independently so I admire anyone who gets into it especially for an animated series. And I am so into this because I have such a bias towards anime styled or the Japanese animation process and of course- WOLVES!! I am so excited for more logs like this and wish you good luck on the production of your project! 🐺💕

It is really impressive how you are working on such a detailed and wonderful story in solo, regardless how its difficulties. I relate, I am also hestitating to continue my own story due to my insecurities and inexperience. Listening to this while you work on your divine work, it gave me more motivation about this! Insecurity is everyone's worst fear. Sometimes it's hard to overcome it.

For those interested OLD CONCEPT! Prologue Deep within a forest, four wolves came together at a small hidden lake. They carried the lifeless body of the fifth along with them. The one up front, who led the way towards the lake, ordered the others to sink the dead body of their female friend in the clear water. He and another male wolf stood by the edge. For they were not allowed to touch the cleansing water. Eventually, they lined up in front of the lake and sat together to wait for the miracle their guide had foretold. Their tails were kept still as they sat in place like statues, waiting for their friend to return from their afterlife. Her white fur slowly but surely got soaked, but nothing else happened. Even her kind-looking face did not loft towards the surface. There was no demand for air. Feeling deceived, the largest animal of them all looked down on the guide and frowned. “It is not working!” He snarled. Not impressed by the threatening appearance, the guide kept looking down at the body. “Just wait. I did not lead you all here for nothing.” “I just hope she will come back to us…” another whispered. She had been the quietest wolf of the group. With her head between her paws, she lay on the grass surrounding the lake. Small bubbles were starting to group up around the dead body. //Where am I? I have no vision… I feel nothing but cold// The white female attempted to inhale, but the water had already filled her lungs. //I can’t breathe. What is this place?// Slowly the life she had been given back started to slip away as she was choking in her dream. //It’s hurting so badly. I have to…have to…have to wake up!// In shock, she opened her eyes which were immediately stung by the water. With an exuberant swing, she lifted her head above at the white wolf, now standing inside the lake, trying to catch her breath. Every single one of them was speechless, for their friend did not look the same as before. Her calming blue eyes changed to red with a deep black sclera. Confused and wary, she looked at them. “Who are you!?” The wolves exchanged glances. Now they were even more shocked than before. “Answer me.” She demanded. (Please tell me if I did any typos or skipped stuff)

I don’t think I’ll like the type of story(not as offense it’s just personal preference I have,the idea is unique and good though).but when it comes out I’m definitely watching it I love all of the character designs,and in the future I want to make a show and game based on the story I have created or more of so thought about and brining it to life.I want to be inspired by creators like you so I can make the characters to my liking without being insecure if others don’t like it or even hate it.
