Hello! I will build a much bigger heat reservoir, and "submerge" it in the ground. The only problem is the enormous amount of insulation required, that costs thousands of dollars :(

@@vladimus9749 Yes, of course! :) A sand battery is a thermal storage that is ment to be used later on. In this case, I heat the gravel up to 550°C (maximum heat gun temperature), but since I only have 2"/5cm insulation, the temperature "only" reaches 250-300°C. In Sweden, where I live, you sometimes get paid when the electricity-prices are negative, that's when I am going to heat my future enormous sand battery (15m/45' × 2m/6' diameter). I also have a LOT of solar panels, which over produces during the summer. The final version of the sand battery will store about 10000-15000 kWh during the summer, which will be pumped into our house during the fall/winter. :)

@@walp86 Thank you. Why were you heating the gravel through the long insulated pipe instead of directly?

Direct heating with element, wire, or stove-spiral, is of course better, BUT, when you eventually have 75 tons of sand in the battery, 6 ft down, you don't want to change direct heating elements when they fail... that's why a heat gun-solution is better, since you can replace them within seconds. :) The pipe is required to spread the heat evenly, and spare the heat gun from air restriction/overheating problems.

Use a dry vent element there $13 and you can blow air over it thats best way i found so far

Okay! Check out my second sand battery concept video, you will need a LOT of insulation since the sand temperature can get many several hundred degrees Celcius/Fahrenheit. The DeltaT gets enormous... (The water needs to be above 55-60°C) It will work in theory though, if it hot enough outside it will reach 41-43°C! (+10°C outside or warmer) however, YOU WILL GET B. LEGIONELLA AND THAT IS REALLY DANGEROUS!!! People can die! Or get very-very-ill!!

Hej! Det beror på, den funkar bra på senvår, sommar, tidig höst, för mindre pooler upp till 5 m³, men såfort det blir för kallt ute, så får den problem att hålla tempen, har för mig att det var vid +7°C...(?) 800 L är dock "lite", så det blir bra sålänge det är "varmt" ute :)

Yes, the range is only 100m (328 ft.) under optimal laboratory conditions. I had trouble pinging through my car window, but I must say that my SmartTag2 pings more often than the SmartTag1! Yes, ozone smells quite similar to household chlorine bleach, (sodium hypochlorite). The half life of ozone is 8-30 minutes in real life situations/spaces, and as a rule of thumb, 10 half lives is 1/1024, (i.e ~1‰ remains), however, since i waited about half of that (4 to 10 half lives, depending on ventilation etc.), and still smelled the "chlorine bleach", one should be aware that it might take up to a full day, to get rid of it all! :)
