Ahah, I actually loved the final season, contrary to most people, so I dunno, ahah). I'm just really not in a good place mentally these days, and the war doesn't help (I'm from Ukraine), so I don't make edits right now, but this last season really brought a lot of joy to me, so... like that).

Thanks!) I mean, tbh, Jason was whatever character because of how they kept him in the dark, but they also wrote him subtly as a douchebag?) I mean, he made the whole remembrance speech about his team, was clearly ignorant towards Chrissy, was extremely violent beyond reasoning. They clearly wanted someone to be the plot blocker, i don't like this kind of character type, but i also feel that even if he knew about everything he would have stayed a douche just because they clearly made him that since the beginning.

@@uselessexcelsior4794 Originally, the Duffer Brothers created Steve to be a douche. In season 1, it was supposed to reveal that Steve sexually assaulted Nancy and that he was going to die in that season. The Duffers wanted Steve to die as a jerk. However, because of how much they loved Joey Keery, they decided to change up his character, which was for the best since he's now a favorite character. So if Jason were given a specific character development, he could've been a fan favorite too. The only reason why he was ignorant to what was happening to Chrissy was because she didn't want to tell him. She'd thought he would tell her the nightmares she's been having are not real, etc. She just didn't want to worry him. It's kinda like why Max didn't tell Lucas. I mean, of course Max didn't it in a more distant way which did cause some relationship issues with the two. But anyway, I'm not saying I liked Jason's character. It was satisfying to see Lucas stop Jason. And Jason's death was pretty cool It's just that I don't think Jason deserved what happened to him. He wasn't a villain. He was more of an anti-hero. He wanted to save everyone, but he was just mistaken on who were responsible for the murders. If we watched this season just in Jason's POV without any knowledge of anything else on this show, we would only know just as much as him. Therefore, we would think that Hellfire might be responsible and we would be rooting for him to win. Caleb McLaughlin has repeatedly defended Jason's character saying that he just "a good person in a tough situation" and that he just "misunderstood" what was going on. He says that Jason should've gotten some sort of redemption and forgiveness like what Billy went through at the end of season 3. Mason Dye even says that if he never saw Patrick's death, maybe he could've still convinced on what was really going on. Let me explain what could have happened if Jason realized that Lucas was telling the truth and if he survived. And just a heads up, I typed a lot... Jason wakes up after the fight and he sees Lucas grieving over Max. He sees Lucas telling Erica to go get help. Max says she doesn't want to die and Lucas tells her to stay with him. Jason is surprised by this since he thought that Lucas was sacrificing her. Then when the gate opens and Lucas moves Max out of the way, he sees Jason awake and he tells him to get out of the way so he doesn't die. As Lucas continues grieving over Max, Jason asks him if he really was telling the truth. Lucas then angrily shouts at Jason saying that of course he was telling the truth. He says how the walkman was the only way to save Max and because of Jason stepping on it for losing his shit, Max is now dead. Jason then feels absolutely horrible. He collapses to his knees hating what his actions led to. He too is upset because now he knows that Lucas is in the same position as him, grieving over his dead girlfriend killed by Vecna. But when Lucas realizes that Max is alive again (after noticing her breathing or feeling her pulse), Jason decides to go outside to get help just like Erica. Jason tells his friends that he was wrong and how Lucas really was trying to help. His friends are skeptical, but Jason says that because Lucas told him to get out of the way when the gate was opening, he knew that Lucas was not a murderer. Jason tells Lucas to tell him everything and he promises that he'll listen. With that, the rest of the basketball team will be there so they too can understand. The rest of the Hawkins gang can be there too, not just to mention what happened when they attacked Vecna and Eddie's side of the story, but also what had been going on in Hawkins since season one. Just imagine Jason's reaction to finding out that all of this stuff was connected to the mall fire. About what really happened to Billy. And with Jason asking Lucas why he never told him about being part of Hellfire before the murders even happened, Lucas would say "Like I said. I wanted to be popular like you guys. I just didn't want you to think of me as a nerd. I didn't want to be bullied anymore. Plus, I thought that maybe eventually, I could make Mike and Dustin popular too with me being with you guys." Jason would then say that he has always supported him in the past. He took him under his wing because of how great he was. Jason would even try his best to convince the police and other people in Hawkins they were wrong about Hellfire and they were just victims too. It was be hard for him to convince people, but he wants to try so he can rectify what he did. Jason will come to the hospital with Lucas when visiting Max to support him. When El arrives, he can say "So... you're the super girl they've been telling me about." And he can then tell Mike he's sorry for turning everyone against Hellfire. I wish we even saw Jason's reaction to finding out that Jim Hopper is alive. With hearing Jim's side of the story, and meeting Dr. Owen's people there after they dropped him off, that would be the point when Jason officially knows that Lucas was indeed telling the truth about everything and he will trust him from then on. With Jason knowing that Eddie indeed was going to give Chrissy drugs and that the two knew each other in middle school, Jason further feels horrible about himself. First off wishing he could've helped Chrissy. And two, wishing he could apologize to Eddie and tell him that he appreciated him being a helpful friend in her time of need. I was even hoping we would see Jason say that to Chrissy in "The Piggyback" episode if Jason found out the truth sooner. If Jason found out the truth sooner, I think that he would hold Eddie as he dies and Jason would say "Why'd you do that?" because of his sacrifice and then Eddie would say "Because... Chrissy would want you to go on." If Jason sacrificed himself instead for Eddie, Eddie would hold him and as he dies, Jason would say "I was wrong about you.... You're all right." But if Jason did survive and make it to season 5, he and his basketball team would be willing to help the others fight the monsters and take down Vecna. And depending if Vecna is gonna do more "curse" stuff in season 5, just imagine if he decides to target Jason. Jason would see a dead version of Chrissy who's mad at him because he wasn't there to help her and that he convinced everyone that Eddie was the killer, not just the police. Then a dead Eddie would appear mad at him saying how Jason made everyone think he was a murderous freak and that Eddie won't get to graduate. Then a dead Patrick would appear saying "You didn't even try to save me. You just stared. All you cared about was catching Eddie even though he didn't do anything wrong!" and then a dead Max would appear saying that it's his fault that she's dead. That if he just listened to Lucas, the four gates wouldn't have merged. She would then say "Lucas was right about you. You really are a raging psychopath." Vecna would then appear saying "They are weak, just like you." This would infuriate Jason launching him into fighting. Jason would then say "This is for Max... and Patrick... and Chrissy... and Eddie."

@@ryanstauffer119 Yeah, I know about Steve, and I agree that Jason didn't deserve to die like that. But look, your plot variant takes away the focus from Lucas and Max *and El* in the scene, I dunno, honestly, it was Lucas' moment to realize that he had the false idol in Jason, and everything Jason does, it goes back to the idea of him being full of himself, again, the way he made remembrance speech about his football team was already enough insight what his character's about, and further actions only solidified that impression. Soo... i mean, yeah, they could've made him more complex, but they didn't, so whatever, honestly?) I didn't feel a lot about him, wish they'd put all the Jason stuff aside for something for Karen or even bring back Mr Clarke, or even make psychologist, Ms Kelly, more prominent, or Mr Munson also could've been more prominent. Anyway, it's kind of whatever issue, ahah, it's been a year already).

@@uselessexcelsior4794 It's amazing that it's been a year now. And I'm sure they're setting up Mr. Munson's story for season 5. I think we'll be seeing him battle the monsters to avenge Eddie and he may unfortunately die as well. I do want to see Mr. Clarke back too. I actually hope that Suzie comes to Hawkins for a surprise visit for Dustin. That way, Suzie and Mr. Clarke can work together on helping all of the main characters. With whatever idea that Suzie has, I can see Mr. Clarke say "I wish I had a student like you in my class." They can come up with ideas on how to close the giant gate in the center of Hawkins since it's too big for El to use her powers to close because it can make her faint midway in the process, etc. I hope Suzie and Mr. Clarke even meet Sam Owens depending how he'll be able to get back to Hawkins.
