One of the best, most helpful and clarifying videos I have watched. Thankyou.
I wish Maffetone spent much more time discussing the heart and cardiovascular system rather than focusing so much on fat metabolism. No matter how fat adapted you are you will never build serious endurance without a larger heart and more efficient vascular network. Does anyone know of interviews where he gets much more into depth about the heart and cardiovascular adaptations of MAF?
Thank you so much for having me!
Thanks for joining us! Awesome show
Excellent interview! Enjoyed it very much. Been a huge fan of the doc for years.
Mark Rippetoe, Starting Strength and Andy Baker Strength and conditioning. Both very influential! How about swimming? 🏋🏻♂️🏊🧨🦊
Great suggestions and some are already on the list. Thanks for the recommendations. We are also working on a great one for swimming coming up so stay tuned!
I swim daily and notice a change in awareness. I follow with heavy compoind lifts four days a week. Feel subtle and strong. At 70yrs am oldest OG under the barbell at the Local YMCA. You are describing my experience. Thanks for the insight. 🏊🏋🏻♂️🧨🦊
Thanks to you two, I learned a lot.
I started reading Dr. Maffetone articles back when he wrote for Runner's World. At first I thought he was just trying tp be a contrarian. As time went on I realized he was first on things that became widely accepted later.
What a fascinating interview, thank you both so much

It’s common knowledge that 8-12 reps is ideal for hypertrophy lol
Unfortunately common knowledge and common sense are not common practice! PS-There is some cool emerging research showing that zone for Hypertrophy being as low as 3 and as high as 30!
@@principlesofprogramdesign The internet doesn't need another negative fitness guy man 3 sets of ten is great. 8-12 is what most bodybuilders use.
@@principlesofprogramdesign Sorry for being negative myself but this is the kind of content I get tired of seeing
!!!! 😮😮
I was just about to comment this. Jeff Nippard just recently did a video about rep range and muscle hypertrophy. 8-12 reps is the golden standard. Find a weight you can do within that rep range with good form and then move up your weight week by week or month by month as you outgrow that rep range. Shit is not rocket science but everybody wants to make it that way.
Outstanding episode. Great to know there’s guys like Tim out there (as well as Eric & Mike of course!).
That's truly inspiring on so many levels, thank you so much for a great podcast
This was a fantastic podcast. Dan's words on Kindness were fantastic. Always informative.
What an extraordinary and insightful interview, am blown away by Dan's knowledge, wisdom and thoughtfulness. This would surely make "the best of" Principles of Performance library. Absolutely stunning quality guys.... Thank you.
Wow Max, you are all grown up! GREAT job! Interesting stuff!

Fascinating clip on the topic of resiliency in kids! Can't wait to watch the full episode for more insights and solutions.
I thought this was going to be a glutes workout vid🍑
You will get better results by NOT throwing the ball, but keeping it on top of the crown of the head, and slowly going through the full range of motion, and returning to good wuji posture. I am developing this program currently, with the medicine ball on top of the head, rather than carried by the hands, and it is revolutionary, try it out!
Great to hear Diane's experience and wisdom. Narratives of journeys are so valuable, another great podcast guys, thank you

Another great video again again
Another awesome episode. Well done guys. (Eric- “Not since Atari” 😂😂)
Why only 95 views?! I was flabbergasted watching this podcast. We’re not alone! My husband and I are both 62 and getting ready to open our first gym. We have been business people, not gym people. We pastor a home church. We are not fit and are having to learn the fitness industry and go on this journey along with our clients. Husband is in school with NASM. How did we get here? We pastor a home church. We know that being spiritually healthy is tied to being physically healthy on every level. Jesus met physical needs first. As soon as we decided to do this we knew we wanted to be different, but we have not found anyone with the concept we are feeling until now. One of our first ideas was promoting “do this so you can do that”-with photos of grandparents playing actively with grandkids, along with all the other Idaho outdoor activities. This podcast was so inspiring, and solidifies the direction we want to take. Thank you so much! - Revolution Fitness, Nampa, Idaho
Listen to this Dr woman and athletic genius she is the best
This is such a great conversation with so many gems, really appreciate it, thank you
Brilliant podcast and so much packed in. Awesome guest and reliably top drawer presentation A stand out for me was the section on limiting beliefs; - I am what I have - I am what I do - I am what others say I am - I am what my circumstance is I would like to have the temerity to add another to that list with a limiting belief I often come across in individuals who are rehabbing, which is; - I am what today’s me can achieve To become everything you can be is a never ending pursuit and requires investing yourself in “The unrelenting pursuit of excellence.”. A concept that I believe is the beating heart of PPD.
Great job Max Coleman!
Awesome podcast, once again your podcast has introduced me to another giant.
Amazing podcast. Tons of usable info here! More content please!
Wow. A lot of this invaluable info can be applied to many of the daily topics we all deal with. Listening to this in its entirety has broadened my knowledge on many topics in my own life and I couldn’t be more appreciative…So as always, I humbly thank you for your wisdom Dr Dom!! 🤙😊
Steve’s story needs to be made into a film. But the actor might need to drop the scouse accent to help people understand him 😉
