Motorcycle Camping | I Burn Dinner
It's an overnight camping trip to a new spot and I manage to destroy my dinner. I take the KLR650 Adventure out once again and get a decent nights sleep in my hammock.

It's a little late for a first trip of the year, but here we go. I take the KLR650 Adventure to a brand new spot but it doesn't end up working out. I still salvage the trip though and spend the night in the wild, but with neighbors.

It might sound like I don't like my new 2022 KLR 650 that much, but that isn't true. I'm reall enjoying the KLR, but there are a few things that aren't quite perfect. In this video I tell the hard truth about the KLR 650 and list off all the things I don't like. I'm at one of the best camping spots I know of on my first trip with the 2022 KLR 650 Adventure. I've been waiting for a chance to camp here for years, and it's finally my time. I ride the KLR 650 2.5 hours to this spot and I couldn't be happier to have the place to myself.

I just got my hands on a 2022 KLR650 Adventure and couldn't be happier. The way I ride is changing, and so is my bike. The CRF250L Rally was traded this weekend for the bigger adventure bike for longer trips with more gear. . . I mean beer.

Today I'm on a "camping" trip. I'm staying in a cabin on the river with Dave and Aram. We have chili by the fire and enjoy the sounds of the river. I take my Honda CRF250 L Rally loaded up with camping gear but I don't need much of it on this trip.

Dave, Mo, and I spend the night in one of our favorite places. A remote campsite in the middle of the Maine woods. I take my CRF250L Rally and Dave is on his Polaris Sportsman 570 on a trip through the overgrown woods road that used to cross the stream. The bridge has been removed and now it's just a dead end with a place to camp and have a fire.

Dave and I head out on a two night camping trip with one night in Canada and the second back in Maine. We take the KLR650 and CRF250L Rally for quite a trip. I don't know the mileage, but we did a lot of riding, and found a couple of great campsites. We also found a pretty great time. Music: bensound.com

It's a simple ride to a great lunch spot, but that's what the crf250 Rally is all about. Not every trip needs to be epic. Sometimes, a simple ride to a nice spot is all you need. The rail trail delivers once again, and I have a great few hours on the Maine trail system. Music: bensound.com

It's not all sunshine. Sometimes it rains on camping trips, but you shouldn't let that ruin a good time. On this trip, I take the CRF 250L Rally out on the Maine logging roads for a camp out on one of my favorite spots. There are over 10,000 miles of dirt in Maine and I only cover a portion of it in this video. It rains, but it's still a great camping trip. Music: bensound.com

I have the same problem with my bike.Having the screen on all the time will deplete the battery and the charging system of the bike cannot keep up.Turn the screen off and just listen to the instructions with your Bluetooth and the bike will be able to keep your phone charged.Lets hope that tone day Kawasaki puts a good charging system on the KLR.

No gloves? You do know your hands have more sensitive nerves than any other part of your body. Can you feel a scratch on glass with your butt cheek? I think not. If you rash your hands that’s what you’ll be grafted with. The squealing noise is the fuel tank venting.

I set up like I am on crack..see the location for my tent, do the once over for rocks, sticks anything sharp, always use a small ground cloth and have double pad. I have a cheap, cheesy yoga style pad for first and then inflatable for my sleeping bag. I immediately string a line between 2 trees, turn jacket and pants inside out to dry and get rid of as much funk as possible, get my coffee place for the morning and then start camping..I always get my place to sleep within my first 10 minutes and get where I am getting coffee. If I sleep 6-9 hours it's all good. I like to let my sleeping bag air out for 30+ minutes in the morning..

Thanks for a good watch. Your voiceover audio style works great! Way out miles from anywhere a few years ago a friend of mine screwed an LPG gas cylinder onto a cooker top just like you were doing at 16:54. Next moment there was a Woosh! and a ball of flame and he was very badly burned, requiring a helicopter casevac off the trail and hospitalization. Whenever you are attaching a gas cylinder to a cooker or other fitting, ALWAYS hold the cylinder right side up. In the event of a leak and/or an unintended ignition, you will only have a hopefully small gas fire to deal with. You can actually hear your cylinder make a hiss noise as it screws on. If the cylinder is upside down it will eject liquid LPG fuel which instantly expands into a large amount of gas, resulting in an explosion and a big ball of flame. Stay safe out there, especially when you are alone.

I bought a 2023 KLR 650S. I am not much of a camping guy any more. I'm 70 and I have done a lot of mountaineering and backpacking over the years. Now I hotel it but sometimes when I'm in really remote areas I take camping gear just in case.
