      @@billbivings4125 G-scale doesn't mean anything. If u meant it's of LGB scale, it's 1/22.5 scale. So what's the FRACTIONAL scale is ur Bachmann model? If ur original packing box doesn't tell u, then u can measure ur model's driver wheel diam knowing the prototype's diam, then calculate from therein. It's nut(not) math (like matrix, derivative, summation, partial differential equation, group theory, ring theory etc). It's an EZ Arithmetic ratio calculation.

    What a fascinating and unique little railway! After reading the Garden Railways article I am looking into the hypertufa material. We have had a large garden here in Idaho for years and when we get another home we hope to have a market garden to sell fresh produce from, a garden railway with edible greenery would be a unique addition!

    Nice to see them steam like that, really nice. Thanks, that is always nice to look at and hear. Do you still let that last (super) Garret steam on your layout or is she more of a display unit, currently? Would love to she her steam again, on your layout. Looks good. Do note it was not just the garret patent that prevented some fun stuff reaching the USA, there is also the Corridor Tender as well. Also patented to all hell and then some. Now what would a streamline Garrett with a corridor tender, look like? Mallard Triplex, failed because the third wheel set was below the tender, no boiler weight pressing it down. I think a properly constructed Garrett Triplex, might actually work quite well. You wouldn't happen to have the lower sections of a 844 and a 4014? Yes a Bigger Boy, lol or would it be, Big Sis(ter)? A what if, if they had tried to make something more powerful then the Big Boy, to counter the modern opponent.

      @@billbivings4125 If you ever do go for another streamline Garrett, would something based on a Duplex Steam Engine, be something? Especially if the tender part is based on a Corridor Tender setup, with possibly a pulled corridor water tender behind it, before the streamline passengier wagons? It would give a nice nose & tail look, I bet. ua-cam.com/video/2RusRdlE-gg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=HighIron ua-cam.com/video/sIFx5oqRBvQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TrainofThought

    Are Barry’s chassis still available, I tried to find online, but it looked like they aren’t for sale anymore, not even sure I was at the correct site, kind of a hokey website? Just got my first anniversary set finally, the wonderland flyer, but I have a lot of version 5 and earlier sets in my collection and I’d like to get a couple stronger chassis for a couple locos that I want to pull long trains... namely all my circus series. I was gonna just order Annie replacement chassis from bachmann, but I wanna try Barry’s I hear only good things all over UA-cam about them. Your loco looks killer with all the weathering and grime on it.

      Say, a Mallet has the boiler laying on it's two sets of drive wheels in what way? A Garret has it always hanging between two sets of such drive wheels. But what if you apply some Mallet thinking in order to use a longer and thus bigger boiler? Yes, apply Mallet articulation mounting of the boiler, to the Garret, that should let you either turn one end into a Mallet wheel setup (for that water tank) or apply a Metro style engine locomotive, more easily, maybe even both. Really, let this locomotive of yours, run besides a Mallet, compare the way their nose sections turn, see if you can scale up, making a longer and more powerfull locomotive.

  • @rbleisem
    @rbleisem 3 роки тому

    Might want to check the most front & back trailing wheel axels, those single axels, either it's the camera frame rate zinking up with the wheel turn or at times, they ain't turning right. Especially the back one seems to have this effect at times. She does look both good and natural, so thumps up.
