Crafting the (not round) Crafting Table - Mid Century Bureau Restoration
Just a quick video (mainly photos...) of a restoration I did on a Mid Century bureau I managed to get for free.
This fantastic mahogany bureau was sadly too damaged to restore to its former glory, but I hope I did it justice with some fixes, choice of paint, new leather, hardware and little modifications.
It's incredibly functional and I love working on my projects on it.

I've been rather busy with my day job and very eager to craft, so I squeezed a quick project during the Christmas holidays. Being much smaller than my previous work meant I could take time refining and trying new techniques especially with stone carving. I also tried a different style of roof, away from my trademark medieval concave shape, purely to have some fun with angles and not get stuck d...

Lovee! You’re so good at art! 💗 it’s me Teira!😁
that is so amazing, awesome
Playable interiors
Wow wow wow….that looks amazing
Your work is simply stunning….
WTF is realistic about this??? Watermills aren’t tiny little huts with massive wheels just bolted on to their sides with no means of controlling water flow. Spend just two minutes observing real life mill (not just the 💩 from sodding elder scrolls etc) and you’d see this in an instant. The only way you get a pass for this nonsense is if you’re legally blind in both eyes. Otherwise, get a fking GRIP!
What an amazing outcome and fun to watch. What kind of printer is that what you use to cut out figures?
Fantastic chandelier . Love the idea of using real wax for the candles and it looks great lit up . Going to check out your other videos to see what else I can learn . Thanks for sharing your build . Tom
Amazing! Thank you!
really beautiful. What are the lamps you used?
Wow einfach nur toll ❤ Frage wo bekomme ich diese Kabel gekauft ? Für die Beleuchtung
Thank you so much :). I bought them from a local shop that specialises in model trains. I just asked for the smallest lights they had. This one’s from Amazon are the closest I can find now: www.amazon.co.uk/Evemodel-30pcs-Pre-soldered-Micro-White/dp/B08ZH98BRJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=IGWYP5N3X18X&keywords=miniature+train+lights+micro&qid=1697727276&sprefix=miniature+train+lights+micro%2Caps%2C263&sr=8-1
Brilliant ideas! I subbed as I only found you today.
Thank you so much :) I have not crafted in a while due to my job but hoping to start a new project soon :) x
The candle/torch sconces were brilliant, I mean the whole thing is amazing but I never knew hot glue would be so effective as flame!
Thank you so much! When I discovered it through another crafter, I was woooowed on how effective it was also 😍 xx
Fantastic, thanku so much..
Much appreciated 😍 xx
This was inspirational to watch
Wow thank you so much 😍
Sorry-- about a year larte to this one, but I was wondering if you could tell me where you sourced the laser cut wood embellishments for the windows...thanks in advance! Just subscribed!
Hello! Do you mean the ones that look like bars? Those are from shiftinglands.com :) For the windows I used chicken wire type mesh from Amazon xx
Yup...I meant the ones you are spraying at 2:29 with your feline friend... specifically the ones on the right side. Thank you!
@@michaelreeves6565 :) those are from Shiftinglands. They have amazing stuff! Doors, windows, shingles, attachments for the Proxxon hot wire cutter etc. Recommend :)
@@theroundcraftingtableoffic2625 thank you! I wasn't seeing them in the US store but I guess not everything's available there yet. Great stuff!

Fantastic tutorial! :D What is that brush you're using? An ordinary toothbrush are those bristles made from steel? If so, where did you get it? Please let me know! Thank you and keep up the good work! :)) Subscribed!
Thank you so much! It’s a wired brush. I bought it on Amazon. I used this link: www.amazon.co.uk/Rolson-Mini-Wire-Brush-Set/dp/B007R2H6UQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?crid=21SXPXNCTS87F&keywords=wire+brush&qid=1685677969&sprefix=wired+brush%2Caps%2C936&sr=8-12

@@thetvj4501 My pleasure. I hope you enjoy them :) x
@@theroundcraftingtableoffic2625 Thanks again! :D Oh, and I forgot to ask earlier - what are you using (at the very beginning of your video) to make those little "protruding dots" on the door and on your beams (I take it it is meant to resemble nails/bolts?)?
@@thetvj4501 I used UV resin for those :) Although I now use sawing pins as it’s quicker 😬 Like these: www.amazon.co.uk/Straight-Stainless-Needles-Quilting-Projects/dp/B0BQBNXRGJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_sspa?crid=23F1KB5QT2JCL&keywords=sewing+pins&qid=1686777317&sprefix=sewing+pins%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-5-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1

Absolutely incredible.
Thank you. This was my favourite to make :)
So incredibly meticulous and detailed! I love it. It's nice to watch something completely hand-crafted and not 3-d printed ^.^
Much appreciated :) I hope I can get crafting again! It’s been so busy with work 😭
So many exquisite details. Really excellent work. Great video
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it 😍
What is that you used for the exterior walls that looks like plaster?
I use Polyfilla filler :) www.amazon.co.uk/Polycell-Polyfilla-Multi-Usage-prêt-to-use/dp/B00K6AQ0Y4/ref=mp_s_a_1_18?crid=283PC3KSAJBI4&keywords=polyfilla&qid=1682317543&sprefix=polifilla%2Caps%2C120&sr=8-18 Sometimes I thin it with water but for the walls I do it straight from the tube.
Nice to see someone doing a good mechanical connection on wiring before soldering. I get so tired of seeing people use solder like it's a glue. Cheers
Thank you so much :) Much appreciated! xx
Wow
Thank you 😍
Great Work!!! Thanks for Posting! Ever since covid hit I have taken up a bit of modelling after watching modelling videos and coming across a bunch of stuff from when I was a kid, but this time I'm not blowing it all up with firecrackers. Hope you are still creating as I am late for the party
Thank you so much! I also started during Covid to keep me busy :) It’s a wonderful hobby isn’t it? I have started a new job but once I’m settled, I will try to build something. My last one, the abandoned mansion was my best so I have no idea how to top that one now that I have less time 😭 Thank you for your support xx
@@theroundcraftingtableoffic2625 ya samething here, the construction crew I worked with really slowed down but gotta new job that I have been at for one year, I am either getting a hot wire or a static grass applicator. I have a bunch of 1/2 figures and some are nuns so I'm thinking a church up in the mountains. Ps I subbed your very talented
@@justinhealey2408 I hope your new job continues to go well. Oooh I can’t live without my hot wire cutter. It’s a game changer! But static grass applicators are fun (and messy!) to use. I’m impulsive so would go for both 😂 but if you can only get one now, you’d find the cutter more useful to start your build. Thank you for subscribing :) Do send me photos of your work when you finish it. I love watching other creators creations. You can find me on FB with the same name and message them there :) xx

Increíble trabajo!!! Muy buena edición del vídeo que no se hace nada pesado !!
Muchas gracias! Estaba preocupada porque era largo 😅 y no sabía que cortar… Me alegro te haya gustado 😍
Once again, it's an amazing job! You do something or put on a color, and I think it makes no sense, and then you turn it into something terrific! Love the longer video and explanations. Would love some narrative, too, though. Again, great job!
