Humberside, Le Touquet, Humberside. Cessna 172 G-BGHJ
On Monday 4th August 2014, Gillian, My wife & i did our first ever France Flight in a Cessna 172 G-BGHJ.
We Departed Humberside Airport (HUY) after filing a Flight Plan, at 08.40hrs & routed FL55 (5500feet) to Earls Colne Via RAF Coningsby & RAF (USAF) Mildenhall. then through Southend Airport overhead at 3300 feet to remain below London airspace then then on to Dover VOR climbing to 5000 feet then out to sea climbing to 6000 feet.
As we reached the french coast, we descended to 2000 feet then to 1000 feet to join the circuit for downwind right to land on runway 31 at Le Touquet (LFAT)
After some lunch we departed back to HUY.
The flight was 2 hour 10 mins airborne each way. Speed was around 100/105 knots.
Some of the flight film has been speeded up which is why it looks quick.
Gillian took the still photographs for me.
Due to camera issues i didn't get the landing at Le Touquet as the batteries didn't last long enough!

This is Film i took on a flight from Sandtoft EGCF to Ladybower Dam in Derwent Valley. This is a similar route the Dam Busters Flew when they were practicing for the Famous Dam Busters Raid on Germany in World War two. I didn't fly it low level but just below the hill tops.
Sandtoft to Spanhoe & Back

I was asked to take my friend Phil Hartshorn down to Spanhoe so he could fly C150 G-BPOS back to Sandtoft. We flew down in C 150 G-BRNC I flew back Solo as did Phil in G-OS. Cockpit cam was with us.

On Saturday 15/10/2011 my wife Gillian & i Flew to Old Buckenham (EGSV) from Sandtoft (EGCF) & back. We flew to Skegness & at 5000 feet transited across the wash to Hunstanton then descended to 07 Old Buckenham & landed. The Journey back was just the same but without the sun in our faces. I flew McClelland Aviation's C172 N80470 out of Capital Airport Springfield Illinois. I flew a PA28, in Flight Simulator 2004, around the circuit at Sandtoft my home flying base where I fly PPL. You can't get the true feel of the aircraft in Flight simulator so it's not up to my real standard of flying when I fly the Real PA28 out of Sandtoft. Yes I did touch down right wheel just before displaced threshold, would have got a slap for that!!!
