As you all are discussing sociology, please consider discussing the pattern of questions that the UGC has been following for the NET exam. What is the relevance of the chronology of theories and books in this exam? Why do we need to qualify for the NET/JRF? What is the purpose of this exam? If we are pursuing a PhD, do we really need to know the chronology of these books? Isn't it enough to have conceptual clarity of each topic and knowledge about research rather than focusing on chronology?
