Canva is surprisingly functional but is not nearly as powerful as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, GIMP, Inkscape, Affinity Photo, etc. It even lacks vector drawing tools that even MS PowerPoint possesses.

Re: "photo, video, whatever that's been of actual political consequence" - you should look into AI video, images and especially audio used in the recent Bangladeshi, Taiwanese and Slovakian elections. Definitely having real negative impact and this is all last gen models.
