A smallish pipe wrench will work to loosen the pully tensioner, just hook it on the farthest little end.

So you can release belt tension unless you remove the front right tire???

Warning: If you live in a rust belt state, make sure the belt tensioner can be easily removed by hand. If you can't, do not attempt to remove it. The pin will snap off.

No corrosion. Must be nice. I will attempt this tomorrow. Tried to replace my EGR after it caused a code. Removing the alternator was uneventful. But, the EGR was frozen to the head. I inended on replacing the alternator and EGR. I chose to leave both of them. The idler and tensioner are very corroded. Don't know how it will go. Made end up returning all the parts I bought. We will see.

If you're watching this I recommend using about 30% of the anti-seize on the spark plugs that Joe uses. That's waaaay too much.

Is the TCM pre programmed or do I have to take it to a dealer n get reamed?

  • @westhavenor9513

Bit heavy on the anti-seize. Also, need to over-torque these plugs to 20-25 ft lbs so the don't pop out.

I just replaced the TCM on our 01 DGC EX, with over 325K miles, last month from this company. The first TCM they sent, wasn't communicating with the PCM. I sent them my test results confirming the TCM wasn't working. They sent me out another TCM within five days. After over 500 miles of driving, It's worked perfectly. Just remember, shifting will not be smooth during the re-learn process. Once the re-learn is complete, it should shift smoothly. They have really good Customer Service. I highly recommend them.

Had a ol' Chrysler master tech say only use OEM if you can still find the original Mopar part its best to go with that one. He said the is a lot of, not great after market parts out there. for both the TCM of the control solenoid.

I had pulled out the caliper slide pins to replace them and did not notice that they were different! One pin has a rubber seal towards the end. I could not figure out if it was positioned on top of the bracket or bottom. In this video the caliper slide pins with the rubber seal towards the end are both on the bottom so that is what I am going to do now. Thanks for taking the time to video this and post it was very helpful.

45+ yrs as a seasoned factory technician , you do not need to open bleeder screw like u did , just take the brake master cylinder cover/cap off this allows ghe brake fluid to back flow with out the highly possibility of letting air in the closed system....... if master cylinder is full just drain a little out ....... other than that ya'll did a great job on the video 📹 👏 👍

Yes I saw that too, I never do that extra step, I just pull a little out of the reservoir before compressing the calipers.
