I ride the Bike MS: City to Shore 2024 Century with the Carver Ti RM 20"
It was a wet day mainly misting most of the ride. The sun finally came out at Ocean City NJ. It was over 60F at least so I wasn't cold the whole time like the 2 previous years. There were no bike issues. I actually stopped at the lunch stop (usually I only stop at the century rest stop and most after).

      I only have what came on the my 49 AM which may not be the same K part. I don't have leads in the USA. I know changing the key to newer threaded one and using a newer indicator rod shifter mark 1 chain (pull rod) is a good replacement.

    Hello it's me again, I heard somewhere that you can put the srf internals in an AW hub, does this work and if so, will I be able to follow the same steps as in this video to add the 9 spline. Saddly, I can't do anything with spokes myself, I kinda need to go through the internal replacement route...😅 If this works, I'll be close to finally making my 3-speed a 9-speed Btw where can I find a 9 spline like you have? I can't seem to find one, all the ones I find are screw ons...

    • @thatbmxguy
      @thatbmxguy 3 місяці тому

      The SRF3 internals will fit in the 2010+ AW only.

    • @matiascampbell2464
      @matiascampbell2464 3 місяці тому

      Ah, well... I've wasted some money. I guess I can ask my local shop to fit the new hub I brought on, it may not be the original but if the new hub is required so I don't have to weld anything then that's what I'm gonna have to do... Again, thanks for being so helpful it's making this (unknowingly) frustrating quest for hybrid gears much more bearable, I honestly thought that there would be spares everywhere when I first started looking, saddly it's not as easy as past me thought it was going to be. 😅

      @thatbmxguy quick question: does any of these adaptors work as long as they have the Pawls, or do they need a certain depth? I'm asking as I am finding some that look similar, but the pawls on them are all very shallow compared to what is shown in the video...

    • @thatbmxguy

    I know that video is rather old at this point, but am i right to think that you where saying, 1. The brompton adapter allows the use of modern gears 2. The adaptor works on the older AW sturmy hubs 3. A new shifter may benefit me Sorry for asking, but I have a hard time understanding what people say. Also to pick your brain a bit, if i was to use this adaptor, how would i go about replacing/modifying the gear and single speed chain on a hercules bike, like is there an existing kit, because i dont have any tools other than a adjustable wrench and a few screwdrivers. You are the closest i have come to seeing how to to add more gears to my hub.😅

    • @thatbmxguy
      @thatbmxguy 4 місяці тому

      the Brompton driver will only work with the SRF3 and XRF5 or XRF5W and BWR or the modern chain pull hubs by sun race. older AW hubs or similar you can try finding the threaded driver that works with fixed gear cogs but you can also thread 5 or 6 speed freewheels onto it.

    You should buy at least one Ryzen 5 5600 soon, as the processor you are currently using bottlenecks the graphics card. And in addition, you should buy a power supply of at least 600 watts because the system may shut down if there is not enough power for the graphics card.
