The Colony Police Department Explorer Post #5151 competed in the "Life on the Beat" competition hosted by Lewisville Police Department. The competition was from 6pm Satuday night into Sunday monring at 6am. The Explorers competed against other Explorer post from around the state by having to answer "calls" located around the city as they "patrolled" the streets. If you are 14-21 and are interes...

The 24 hour entrance to the police department was moved. If you need to file a report during normal business hours (Mon-Fri, 8-5) then go through the main lobby double doors. The after hours entrance to file a report is in the Jail lobby. Just a few small changes done to the building.

Saturday, July 1st, expect traffic delays all day on North Colony Blvd at Stewart's Creek Park. Starting at 8:00 A.M., the 5K and 10K runners will run from the park on North Colony Blvd. to Newton where they will get on the Shore Line Trail. Also look for traffic delays during the "Liberty by the Lake" festival that will go into the night for some fireworks.

If you missed our National Night Out Block Party/ Vendor meeting, here is some information for you. If you want to host a block party no matter how big or small, contact us at CRO@thecolonytx.gov to register. The forms need to be back by July 7th. If you want to be a vendor at our National Night Out open house at the police department, contact us as well to get registered at CRO@thecolonytx.gov.

We recently put this video on our facebook about a subject named Derek Alldred that you may have seen on the news. Alldred was captured by a neighboring agency on our warrant and was later transported to our jail, which you can see at the end of the video. Thank you for all of the tips that came in.

May is Bicycle Safety Awareness Month and for our second video we talk about some of the city ordinances related to bicycles that help keep you safe out there.

May is Bicycle Safety Awareness Month. This week we talk about bicycle helmets. Check back with us during the month of may to hear about some other tips to have a safe and fun ride on your bike.

B.O.L.O Be On the Look Out at Cash Machines or Gas Pumps where you use your credit/debit cards. If something seems off about the machine, report it. One of our alert citizens did just that and contacted the police. We were able to get a few photographs of the subjects that placed a device on a machine to steal your information and money. Recognize them? Then contact Detective hunt at 972-625-1887.

Make sure you are checking your currency before you purchase items or when you receive them as change. Some new $100 bills are making their way through the area that are not real. Look to see if your money has a water mark and a security thread when held up to a light source. Contact your local agency if you think you received fake currency.
