Washing her after a days flying. Disclaimer: Please note the 'wash' was flown by two very expienced highly quilified senior instructors (haha!) who got absolutely soaked! So don't attempt this without help and wear a s'wester and take an umbrella. No, hang on the umbrella wont work...oh you're grown ups, I'll leave it to you.

Finally got her started and running up to 160,000 rpm! A sweet day after months of trials. She's off the bench now and out of the workshop and we are fitting her into a Retrojet airframe for flight testing in the new year

Essex Air Ambulance departure from a small field, tall oak trees on three sides and houses on the fourth. A nice clean lift off, clearance turn and back track with a smooth departure on the top of the avoid curve.

Success! The fuel and lube lines were the wrong way round! Nice start, smooth pick up and for the first time she spooled up to a smooth 165000 rpm and back to 35000 rpm idle.

Another start attempt after quite some time spent on rebuilding - and learning about - this engine. As you can see it did self sustain but was flamey and full throttle only produced a somewhat frightening earth shaking 70,000 rpm. After some brainstorming we deduced that the fuel and lubricant inputs to the engine were transposed and will fix that for the next attempt. That explains the flames,...

Airbrake details. The control horn for the airbrakes supplied with the kit doesn't really work. They are at 90 degrees to the hing line. I replaced these with my own design (40 degree rake toward the trailing edge) and may post a video if required. The cheap 'toy' aileron servos have been descarded and I have quality 'flat' aileron servos to go in.Again, let me know if you want to see that

Lovely kit, lots of work. Not for the novice! The airbrakes are now finally sorted, the cheap aileron servos have now been replaced by quality 'flat' aileron servos

What do you think would happen, given the model has ailerons, if you built the wing flat ie no dihedral on the outer panels?
It will work fine, The reason the hinges seem wrong to you is possibly because your used to the same up and down movment from a horn, like an elevator or rudder.. These horns were probably designed to give max down deflection with very little up, its just a leverage thing, impossible to get a servo to deflect 90 down with a normal horn.. The most you would get would be 45 degrees..once you got past that, it would try and bend the pushrod..

Rebuild. We think the engine was home built from plans. On the engine the main parts we have replaced are; intake compressor, cold side and hot side shaft bearings and fuel injectors. Started her up this weekend and for the first time spooled up to 160,000 rpm smoothly

Questo e un modello leggero a volo lento, i servi analogici dovrebbero essere buoni. Se si montassero servi digitali, le prestazioni non cambierebbero. Spero che sia aiuto
What does "surpass" get you in the OS 4-stroke. Are the pre-Surpass 4-strokes any good?

What engine used
Hi Avila, the engine is the Zenoah 45cc petrol engine. There are a couple of clips on my channel of us starting this engine. Hope this helps!
