2024 Triumph Speed 400 Stalling out!
If you put too much gas in the gas tank, the bike will not run right and will stall out. To get it going again you’ll have to rev it up and give a gas and then I’ll stall out and do the same thing back over again. Kind of like a rinse repeat process

    Why don’t you pull the clutch.. its a Triumph. You have left hand holding the camera.

    It's gonna be a year after a couple of months here, not given me any trouble. You should definitely get it checked with the service guys tit looks like it needs a ECU s/w refresh!

    Thanks for coming forward with the issues you're having. I wanted a Triumph T-120. They make some really nice looking bikes. I am on the fence when it comes to their issues with different things, concerning dependability.

      Nothing but problems sine day one. But i sold it a week ago now and i bought a Suzuki so i will not have any problems because they know what they are doing when it comes to building bikes.

    I got my Speed 400 in March and had the red immobilizer issue right away from day one. Got a software ECU flash when I had my 600 mile service done in May. The immobilizer light is off now, but I occasionally have the same issue you see in this video. The workaround I figured out is: Turn the key back to off position, put the kill switch in off also, turn the key back on, THEN turn kill switch back on, push the start button. So far the bike fired back on every time. The check engine light then stays on for a couple days before resetting itself, but the bike seems to run just fine. Hoping to get this rectified in my one year service appointment.

      Mine did the same thing, it would not start but when i shut it off and turned it back on it would start every time. One day though that might not happen and it just quits all together.

    From the looks of it, it appears to be an issue with the engine immobiliser. As a Speed 400 owner myself, I've, thankfully, not encountered this issue so far, but have heard of people who have and who have had it rectified by sorting out the immobiliser.

    Your key immobilizer sensor (red bell icon) is faulty, should be able to rectify with a software update

    • @vardangautam36
      @vardangautam36 17 днів тому

      The red bell icon should not be there when you turn on the key, if it's there means the key is not getting ready by the bike ECU hence it doesn't respond to the ignition thinking it's not your key. It's a safety feature which is slightly misbehaving 😬

      @vardangautam36 17 днів тому

      If you watch the video again you will notice the bell icon was light up when it didn't start but the last time it went off and the switch responded to the key inserted, ask the service center guys to check this you don't really need to change the cluster as I read in your earlier comments

      One more thing, avoid using both the keys at the same time, as both the keys are coded with different codes at times they interfere with the signalling and hence the computer gets confused whether to allow the key to function or not. This might sound stupid to many but it actually makes a difference, all the things I have mentioned above are tried and tested here in India and these solutions actually work. Happy riding 😊

    Hey, i hope my experience will be able to help just a little bit: Around 2 weeks ago i got a similar (but not the same) issue, when i tried to start the bike the screen (and everything else) would just shut down, no noise... after that the bike would be unresponsive for a few minutes, even if i tried pulling in and out the key the screen would just stay off. After a bit of tinkering I noticed that removing and replugging the fuses had some sort of positive effect, but the problem would return after a few startups. The fix that actually solved every issue for me was cleaning with some anti oxidation the main fuse, when i pulled it out it was clearly a bit oxidised. After cleaning it I never had any issue with startup again, I personally find pretty normal that a bike that comes from indian factories (and probably travels over the sea) has this type of problems... though maybe they could have thought about it. Edit: The main fuse IS NOT in the main fuse box, its behind the left plastic panel (the one where it says "speed 400) in a liiittle plastic thingy, its a 30A fuse (you can find a spare one in the main fuse box i belive... if its really necessary). To remove the side panel you must first unscrew a screw which you find under your saddle. The manual is very clear with the instruction so i suggest you follow that... and please CAREFULL around big fuses and the main power, its a lot of current.

      Thanks for the info. I did what you said and the fuse looks like it is a part of the starter solenoid. The white plastic top comes off and there sits the 30 amp fuse. I cleaned it with a wire brush and then a rag and slapped it back in. Time will only tell i guess to see if that was it, lol. I will take anything at this point!! Thanks for the info and sharing that so others can see and try it out as well.

      Nope, that want to replace the cluster and see if that is it but it of course is on back order.

    I’ve had my Speed since January. Two weeks ago it would not start one more. It would turn over, but just not fire up. I left it overnight and tried again the next day with the same issue. I checked the fuel, spark plug, fuses. Disconnected the battery, reconnected. Tried different things with ignition on/off several times before trying to start. But nothing worked so I booked it in with the dealer, which wasn’t able to see it for another 10 days. I had to organise towing it to the dealer out of my own pocket. While waiting for the bike to go to the dealer, I would try starting it a couple of times a day just hoping it would fire up. 6 days later, it started up with no issue. I love the bike, but my one concern prior to purchasing was longer term reliability as it was a bit of an unknown with the bike being manufactured in India by Bejaj. My recent experience hasn’t exactly instilled much confidence in longer term reliability. I hope you get it sorted out mate! When I was having my issue, I posted on one of the Facebook Speed/Scrambler 400 pages and got some of the most ridiculous advice - “are you pulling the clutch in?” You don’t need to on this model. “Is the side stand down?” It doesn’t matter with this model. “Have you checked the kill switch” The bike turns over, it’s not the kill switch.

      This has done this to me more times than i can count. This video shows proof the kick stand was up, clutch was in and the kill switch was off and it still did it. So it back back from service with the codes cleared and a new update for the software and it STILL does it. It is going back to the shop for the second time for them to try to figure it out again. What a mess this is. I will never buy a Triump again that is for sure!!
