Daniel. I appreciate the comment and suggestion. I agree putting the laptop on a stand with the monitor top at eye level is better. As far as your comment on the Uplift Desk, let me differentiate why the Walk Top is different. The Uplift is great as a go to standing desk but what I am addressing here is using your treadmill to burn a few extra calories during the day in a non workout way. I have a separate standing desk that is massive. Ergonomically it's set up with everything I need as well as the "fluid stance" and rogue "Fidget Bar" to keep moving while working. What I believe Fitneff has done is bring a desk that can adapt to your Treadmill in seconds for those times you might sit on the couch doing emails, texts, and other work. Our Fitneff Walk Top is off and on our treadmill. During my workouts the desk is off because I need all the treadmill for my stride and arms. Then durning the day I might use the Walk Top for 30 to 60 minutes with my laptop or tablet. In my search for adaptable desks to fit on almost any treadmill Walk Top is by far the best I have found. I am sure you can compromise quality and longevity with something else but for those people that have a treadmill and want to clean the dust off or use it daily to burn a few extra calories I highly recommend the Fitneff.... In closing I recommend to all my patients a stand up desk. So by all means the Uplift may fit the bill perfectly for them. Ikea makes some lower cost standup desks and now we are fortunate to have so many choices. The key is to get people up out of the chair and working standing up.
