“Both Ladybug and Cat Noir were akumatized once”? No? Only Adrien was turned into Cat Blanc and Ephemeral. Marinette has never been akumatized. One was an illusion made by Volpina, and the other times she was almost akumatized but something always got in the way keeping her from being akumatized. First time Gabriel tried to akumatize her was when Natalie fell ill and and Gabriel dropped his transformation causing the akumatization to fail. Second time was when Cat Noir rejected Marinette’s love. The akumatization failed here as well because Cat Noir kissed Marinette catching her off guard. And the third and final time was when Marinette remembered and overcame her past trauma. It failed because she sort of overcame her trauma, causing her negative emotions to disappear. Without negative emotions people cannot be akumatized. The video that was showed as Ladybug’s “akumatization” was not at all her akumatization. That was an illusion created by Volpina on Heroes Day in order to spread fear among the citizens.
