Timing is everything in life. I saw The Cardiacs many many years ago and didn't appreciate their uniqueness and utter brilliance. I can now understand the complexity and intelligence of their music.❤

That tempo change from 2:35 for the next 30 seconds, and then straight back into the previous tempo flawlessly, seamlessly. Unreal. I love that I can still find this unfathomable gems that Timmy wrought in the darkest corners of their output

I heard the cardiacs version before I heard the kinks version so I’ve always thought of the kinks version as a cover of a cardiacs song

The only time i ever heard Hymn live was at the Wellhead Inn near Wendover in the mid 1980s. It brings tears to my eyes to remember the emotion i felt back then and to remember Tim in all his glory.
