Wanderlust MAX
Приєднався 26 кві 2022
Wanderlust anyone? My passion is exploring the Pacific Northwest in all its natural grandeur. My content is a hybrid of meditation and exploration/travel videos. Nearly every weekend I camp in a tent, yurt or stay in a cabin, regardless of the weather. I vary my excursions among various settings; my favorites are the Oregon coast, the Columbia River Gorge and the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range.
I emphasize exploration and documentation during my travels. Each weekend I travel approximately 20 miles on foot and take footage of anything I find interesting. I hope you enjoy checking out my adventures.
Sincerely,
Max

Garibaldi Oregon Twin Rocks Barview Jetty Tillamook Coast January Solo Tent Camping
@WanderlustMAX January 11th, 2025 I embark on a solo camping trip to the Tillamook Coast of Oregon. Barview Jetty county park and campground is a wonderful destination for lodging while exploring the Oregon coast. Don't worry, those aren't drone shots near the Twin Rocks Wildlife sanctuary, it's not real. I cook a meal of soup on the fire. Food preparation. I film driving from Beaverton to Tillamook and Garibaldi. I stop at Lumberman's memorial park and climb on trains. Oregon Scenic Railroad and Neahkahnie mountain trains. I explore the campground and see a double rainbow. I evaluate the cabins and mini cabins. Sea cucumber washes ashore. Rainbows on beach . Oregon beach combing. Overhead beach flyover footage. Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad.
Oregon coast drone footage. DJI 4k mini drone.

I drive from the ranger station near Ripplebrook along the Clackamas River toward Estacada, OR nearly 4 years after the Riverside fire of 2020. In the early hours of September 8, 2020 a small fire was reported near Riverside Campground. Firefighters quickly responded and tried to put the fire out. The extreme fire behavior and rapid spread soon changed their mission to evacuating campers and pe...

After getting my first taste of this region the previous year, I planned a 5 day trip to soak in and explore as much of the area as possible. Wanderlust, I'm watching your video, laughing and enjoying your personality. I like the progression of your content. Keep being curious, creative, and YOU. Just a fan, NW Studios
Awesome! Great job
Thanks!
My favorite of all the places I've ever been...❤❤❤❤❤❤😂
I’m curious, where’s your 2nd favorite place then? 🤓
Great! Love this!
Great video I did my Boy Scouts out of the Coast Guard Station. Becoming an Eagle Scout
If you're considering going there, let me tell you that these vids, and your cell phone are not enough, and go with somebody, even if that means waiting at the trail head for other people to come.
Great video. Thanks!
@@superduckman45 Glad you liked it. Thanks for the comment Superduckman45. I’m a Duck Man myself (University of Oregon Alum.) 🦆
@@WanderlustMAX Nice! Go Oregon!
As a longtime fan, I love the ambient vibe, different feel, and scenic drive, as you put it. This video gives me everything I need to chill out. Nice work.
Thanks NWStudiosJ, the drive had me chilled out and spellbound after being spooked by a bear earlier that day 🐻 Glad to hear it provided you some chill too 😄
I'm going to Brookings for my end-of-summer road trip in two weeks. Lucky for me, this place is only a 5-minute drive from my hotel.
Good plan; perfect way to end the summer. I might try to go down there again this year myself, so much I wanted to see, but didn’t have enough time on my first visit 😄
Beautiful and relaxing, cool seeing the aftermath of the fires
My wife and i once drove the whole oregon coast i remember this area its beautiful did you go to the prehistoric gardens at humbug mt
@@bobbyd4400 No, I haven’t been to the prehistoric gardens. That sounds interesting. I’ll be sure to look into it before I go back there. No kidding, it IS a beautiful area; always more to see and explore there. Can’t wait to plan another vacation down there. A HWY 101 road trip sounds like a good idea too 😄
Thanks for the fun video. Such a beautiful area. If you have a kid, are you gonna name him Wyeth? 😆
@@kendog1000x WYETH! WYETH! Wyeth not? Has a good ring to it 😆 Your comment made my day. Glad to hear you saw the fun in it; Sure is a beautiful area 😍
Having briefly lived in this area, I can affirm that you've captured its glory and beauty. I enjoyed this video! J
Awesome,love it!
Really nice video! Which other trails in that area did you enjoy?
@@diananeko1675 Thank you 😊 Just north are the Sea Lion caves, which have some trails with amazing views. Also, the trails around Cape Perpetua are truly amazing. To the south are trails that go through the dunes to the beach; my favorite is Tahkenitch Dune trail. I’m working on more Oregon coast videos. One should be uploaded tomorrow 🤓 Thanks for your interest. I love Oregon coast trails so much 😋
Thanks so much for your recommendations! I hope to get back over there soon with my son who loves to hike!
They actually put the river safety out there because we love the river. A lot of us are knowledgeable enough to know to always be careful in mother nature..... They are out there for safety but they are there so that If an accident does happen, no one will be waiting to long.... They also stationed up at a popular spot so everyone knows safety is out there for all of on the river
The first time we visited Tillamook which is in the Tillamook valley it wasnt long after we arrived I noticed an odd smell in the air. Not a bad smell, just odd. A smell I could not identify. We camped the night & visited the cheese co museum and still I smelled that smell in the daytime. Finally we broke camp & headed south on our way to visit every lighthouse on the Oregon coast. Next day, it hit me. That odd smell? Was methane from the cows. Cows are notorious for tooting methane gas. !
Sebastian is one of my favorite trails to run, but that trail isn't particularly pleasant on windy days.
U 3 jumpers LOCOS👏👏👏👍👌
Seriously love this!
Thanks for saying so. I’m encouraged to work on these videos more often and have started on the next one. I really enjoy the whole process of producing them 🤓 Glad you enjoy watching 😋
niiiiice👌
GREAT!
Once again, you have captured the beauty of Oregon in an informative, funny, and inspiring way. Kudos!
What a gloomy day!
Sounds like you stayed too long and caught beaver fever! 😜
SOMEONE ROBBER AL THE TEETHS....VERY GENTLEMEN.
Beautiful falls, reminds me of another watering hole with a promise of a kiss to jump off the falls.... Keep up the beautiful adventures.
Yes, I want to return to the falls you’re referring to one of these days. I was reminded of that day too when I was up there 😋 Thanks for the comment and the encouragement. Hope you’re doing well 🙂
@WanderlustMAX you're very welcome. At some point I plan to make it back to Washougal falls on one of my visits. If you do make it back I definitely want to see the video.
Mr. Wanderlust, My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed your video. She kept saying, "he's cute!", until I locked her out of the house. I'll let her in next week. Anyhow, great narration, scenery and commentary. I feel refreshed just watching it!
I might've been a smidge too cutesy with all the footage of myself in this video, but I'm glad to hear it caused some drama in your household. I'm sure your marriage will feel refreshed after you let her back in next week. Thanks for the comment, mister SW Studios and enjoy your week!
@@WanderlustMAX That's ok. My wife is nothing but a two-timing moneygrubber, anyhow. She belongs in the streets. Great video!
😱😱😱😱😱
You are so cool max!! Thus is a beautiful video!! Beautiful documentary!🧐🧐
Thanks for comment and compliment 😄 I have a lot of fun out there. If you don’t have a UA-cam channel, you should start one and let me know so I can follow you. You have amazing adventures too 🤩
7 whales have washed up on NJ & NY beaches in the last month. WTF?
Pack it with dynamite like they did in the 70s! UA-cam the video to see what I talking about.
Yeah, I read that a chunk of blubber crushed a sedan down in Florence, OR in the 70s when they did that. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check for that video.
Some amazingly beautiful spots you are giving us a glimpse of here in the PNW, Max!
Thanks, I love this region 😊. Enticing opportunities for exploration are practically endless here in the PNW.
The view is very beautiful.... The waterfall is very beautiful...it is amazing..... Surely this is a very cool place for camping....or just for hiking....
Yes, there are camp sites very close to Ramona Falls, but you'd have to carry all of your camping equipment over the log that crosses the river. Thanks for the comment, I love the Mount Hood area and its waterfalls. I checked out your channel; you do amazing work. I'm inspired by the beauty of the scenery in your videos.
Beautiful Ramona falls, love the story too
Ramona Falls IS amazingly beautiful. I’d like to visit it again when it’s snowing up there. Thanks for the comment and for watching the video 😋
Your best video yet. I can tell you're enjoying making them! Good call on scootching; no shame on your log game, son.
Haha, thanks MG. I figure it’s better to be scoffed at for scootching than for tumbling awkwardly off a log into a raging lil river 😅
Hell yes! Very informative, and also funny. Nice job WM!
Thanks MG! And thanks for the shout-out in your "Still Chillin" video. Also, Mr. B and I were pleased that you posted an update video about the developments in your life; you're leading an interesting and non-conventional one, for sure.
𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚖 🌟
I like that you include shots of a map showing where you are.
Paying attention to GPS and reading maps play a big role in my explorations. I spend a lot of time studying maps and taking screenshots, which I include in the videos. The last two videos I've used satellite screenshot images from Apple maps. Hopefully they're not too difficult to read when presented in 5 second clips.
This is an awesome video! During watching, I lived, I laughed, AND I loved. Thanks for that. Beautiful sights and sounds!
Wunderbar! Great to hear that you enjoyed it. The mountains and their lakes are indeed full of the loveliest sights and sounds.
I enjoy your observational narration, Max. And you certainly capture the beauty of the Willamette Valley!
Thanks, there’s limitless beauty to be captured out there. The Willamette Valley is a special place 🤩
This was great, WanderlustMAX! Your humor is delightful and the scenery superb. :)
I had a lot of fun making the video. Glad to hear you found the humor I tried to include throughout. Thanks for watching, you are officially the first viewer of the video 😋
It's funny that there's a spot where the auto-captions say (APPLAUSE) where it was just the sound of the river rushing by. :D
Ah yes, maybe that’s why I like to bask in the aural serenity of a river’s shoreline. They never really boo, hiss or throw tomatos 🤓
Interesting to see. Fun outhouse moment and finds
Haha, it’s amazing what you can find if you spend all day outside exploring 😄 Yeah, that outhouse wasn’t in very good shape 😆
You have a very soothing articulate voice Max. You’d be a great addition to National Geographic
Thanks, Nina. I had fun trying out some narration. I’m going to continue to make these kind of videos; hopefully I’ll improve along the way. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 😄
Really beautiful scenery, Max! And the narration, well, top notch!
WHAT!? That was so magical! That shot in the beginning with the sparse pine trees in the gloomy sky. Amazing. And the sound of hail falling all around. These videos really make me want to get out there! How cold was it that day?
It is a day I'll never forget; and yes, it was very cold for mid-April. I didn't realize the elevation up there is 1,900 -2,400 ft. The waterfall itself is at 1,300 ft, so the hike takes you through a considerable change in elevation. The weather certainly added an atmospheric element to the experience. I was dressed appropriately enough: sweatshirt, beanie, hoody, rain coat and waterproof steel-toed hiking shoes. Glad to hear you're inspired to get out there; so many wondrous places to explore in this area.
Awesome video. Soothing footage and music. Gorgeous falls! Looking forward to your next one.
