Interviews with a few of the staff who worked at RCA in Rocky Point also known as Radio Central. I don't have the exact date of this but it looks to be a year or two after the shutdown in 1977. You can see the main building is fenced off and the trees have started to take over.

I've been accessing this property for 35 years. I was very happy to see that some of the radio RCA history has been acknowledged. I really had wished before the buildings came down for a museum or something like it.

My father has been taking me to this property since the early 80s to hunt and hike. We would eat our lunch inside this building. Was on the property just yesterday hunting. Not much remains but some infrastructure can still be seen of a once amazing radio station. Incredible history. Brings me back to my childhood to see this..Thank you for posting. Please put up anything else you have.

I’ve been cycling the property for 25+ years (since I was 17). I’ve just recently started to poke around the site. I’ve found the easy stuff like the footings for the main towers and a bunch of cut down poles scattered throughout the site, but I’ve also come across a significant section of one of the actual towers. It’s gotta be about 15’-20’ wide so maybe part of the top hanger section. I’ve also found the concrete bases of (2) of the tuning coils (I think) and probably a small control building or small structure very close to them. I’ve found a huge pile of guy wire, random 3 1/2”-4” steel conduits cut flush with the ground, in the middle of the woods. It’s a fantastic site that probably holds some interesting things from before RCA even got there. This gentleman seems to be the only person posting on this whose actually been there when it was open, so as a life long Long Islander, and history enthusiast, I’d like to thank you for your contributions. The next generation should know about all the great things that happened on Long Island.

That would've been such a perfect place for a museum of technology. So sad it was all demolished. I do hikes there and am saddened when I get to the oval roadway that was once around the fountain. It's all just thick woods now. All that's left are the big concrete bases of the many towers that were on the property.

The tower and, at least, the front of the building with it's fountains should've been saved as a communications museum. I just did a hike there and all you have is the overgrown concrete roadways and tower bases here now. Amazing that even Tesla's lab just a few miles east was not demolished too. So far I just the area around the original lab building cleaned up, but will I live to ever see it made into the proposed museum?! Bureaucracy is the culprit I suspect.
