    This happens because the clamp that holds the shaft has loosened up a little with the time and usage. What you need to do is to get an appropriate allen key, loosen up the clamp, push the shaft all the way back, and tighten it back as tight as you can. I also have the tendency to pull my wheel in heavy breaking scenarios, and this happens often to me as well. That's some poor design on Fanatecs side. I haven't tried it myself, but others suggest that upgrading the quick release mechanism solves it for them permanently.

      I am replying again with a fix I stumbled upon after the original comment was made in case it would help somebody in the future. In my particular case what fixed it (a couple of weeks now without any issues) was drivers update to their latest versions. If you are using the 8nm boost kit, using the stock QR1 lite and experience connection issues the first thing you should try is to update all of the drivers. The underlying problem is indeed with QR1 lite and Fanatec worked around it with a driver patch.

    I'm going to argue no. We do league races at PRT ( 30 members deep + 10-20 non-PRT members. ) You have to check this out on his relay, not just by switching to him by your replay. The things I have noticed is latency issues between hosts and then those of the players in the lobby, toppled that with PS4 and PS5 processing times. Turning off visible damage helps get rid of a good chunk of that for PS4 players.

  • @TheShouldbefamous

    Have used both. The speed and max throw of steering on pad is speed sensitive. Other then when counter steering a slide the steering is too slow in tight hairpins and switchbacks. Forcing pad users to slow more to get the turning radius needed. Wheel will always be faster once you master throttle control. Other then top lobbies you can compete with pad. The little time gained with wheel won't make up for a spin in the grass. Pad users get punted a lot because they need to enter tight corners slightly slower. You can run +5 brake bias to try and get rotation but controlling that can be hit or miss.

      @@TheShouldbefamous I didn’t seem to have any issues getting into the tight turns at rbr, or do you mean tighter than that? • @greatirishday

    It's pretty disingenuous to say that people are "cheaters" just for using a controller when GT7 is a PlayStation game meant to be played on a PlayStation, which is sold with a controller and no other accessories (most people don't like to be called cheaters, so I thought I'd point out the obvious first). While many players have a racing wheel, and some choose to invest in expensive racing rigs, etc., most use the controller that came with their game system. They're not hardcore racing sim enthusiasts that have sim racing as their primary hobby, so they don't spend hundreds of dollars on extra accessories to play the game. However, you and many others choose to spend hundreds of dollars on your racing wheel, racing rig, or whatever you're racing with exactly because it generally makes racing easier and makes you more competitive overall in the sim racing community. If that wasn't the case, you wouldn't spend a lot of money on your sim racing accessories. Here, you chose to make a video focusing on one extreme condition to point out the fact that a controller might have some small built-in assists, but overall playing on a controller isn't any easier than using a wheel. They're just different.

    • @mattikake9859
      @mattikake9859 3 місяці тому

      They are (very) different. I would go as far to say, playing on controller was simply shit. However, most people don't buy wheels to be fast, they buy them for the immersion. I certainly did. I had the money, I had the space, I'm a race fan and one day I asked myself "wtf am I playing world of tanks with a mouse and keyboard when I have F1 race replays on in the background!?" Never looked back. Sim racing gets your natural urge to compete under control. It's also completely changed how I drive on the road. Now I'm much calmer, patient and less aggressive. If there is elitism with wheel users, it's deserved and should be applied out of principle!

    • @greatirishday

      @@storyman34 It was over 2 years old. It's gone to Fanatec for a "2 week" repair... 6 weeks later and no news :( Fortunately I got a 2nd hand one from CEX who delivered it in less than 24 hours.

      Try 8nscrew the clamp pull the shaft and reconnect and retighten the clamp. Might be disconnecting

      @jamesh460 that is running a qr2... fanatec have finally got back to me (after I threatened legal action to corsair) and they say there is a fault with the pcba on the wheelbase itself. Waiting for parts.

      @jamesh460 yeah. Must've reseated all that lot 15 times. Clamp was as tight as I could possibly get it.

      I had similar problem wheel kept disconnecting . The fix was to loosen the clamp near the base , ensure the wheel was inserted fully in . Then re tightening the clamp. I believe there is a section in the gt dd pro manual about re setting the spindle . I must have pulled mine slightly out of the C connection inside when braking and pulling on wheel.

      @@hip62 yeah I had reseated the clamp and connector about 15 times. It would work for a bit then disconnect. I couldn't get the clamp any tighter than I had it. Then I bought a qr2 as people said that works, but nope, video above is with a qr2. It might be the connector at the wheelbase end or something else wrong with it. Fanatec have now had this wheel for repair for 2 months, and so far, not a word. :(
