Lost Canyon Cave located just south of Branson Missouri. Most of this video is from the golf cart trail. Highly recommend taking the time to visit here. Parking is $5 all day during the week. The visitation to the chapel is a separate visit and will take about an hour (free). From the parking area, a shuttle will pick up/drop off. Shuttle runs every 15 minutes or so. There is a museum (need to ...

NVR Camera Installation Under Vinyl Soffit

DIY video of how to install a wired (POE) security system underneath a vinyl soffit for residential single story houses. Sorry for the bad lighting in the attic. I would increase the exposure and repost if I didn't trash the original. NVR Security Camera System by Lorex www.lorextechnology.com

Why did you use some "dome" cameras rather than all "bullet" type?
@@w4baham my parents bought these and I installed for them. I want to say the bundle they purchased had two of each. The bullet shape ones block direct lighting a little better if direct sunlight would have been an issue.
@@jbaswoll3221 Thanks. Good to know. I am in the process of picking out which ones to purchase. I was also advised by the dealer that the dome type are more vandal proof.
Almost said "pull my wire" but saved it just in time, well done
baby bruce watches baby mozart and plays smart baby shapes on ipad.
That kobalt siding remover doesn't work on all siding as easy as you show it here.
Lots of dent left in that facia, this works Ok on gabled roof that allow easy attic access. You will have limited attic access on a hip roof and fishing the cable through the soffit is a big challenge.
Nice work my man.
Great video! I just did a similar project - ua-cam.com/video/_bd5yCfUZtE/v-deo.html
Thanks for the vid, answers some questions about how to do the same. A couple of my cameras need to be right on the corner but I think I'll be able to figure it out now.
5:09 Thats what you call learning. Helpful vid, im doing the same thing.
Great video.
Nice lawn!! When you panned to show the front of the house, it looked perfect, I wish my lawn was that nice. Thanks for the tips on the soffit. 👍🏼
Excellent work
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks man.
good job !!!!
Thanks for uploading the video. I will be doing the install next week and it helps tremendously.
You should re title your video to "Installing Lorex cameras, NVR system." To gain more traction for views.
Thank you for this video
🙏
Much appreciated
Needed this. Thank you sir.
You rock!!! The best camera installation video out there so far you explain everything so well thank you so much for the information and the time to filming
Great Job. You definitely helped me!!
Most detailed video so far. Thanks
I wish mine was that easy I have 2 Floors 40' up I need think about how do our ideas how do just in the Attic Thanks in Advance Steve
Hi @JBswoll!! I have to ask, do you do this as your business ?? Is there any real Money to be made in it for fulltime work? Thanks in advance
Jake, I do not, this video is from my parent's house. I remember before this installation that there were no DIY videos that I was looking for so that is why I made this one..... just to give people an idea and maybe save them some time. I imagine anybody can advertise themselves on the side but then you may also have to set up the NVR so it can be accessed from mobile devices in the "cloud". There are also many WIFI devices that are becoming more popular as well b/c of convenience so this can also limit how many decide to go with a hard wired security system.
Great explanation.
I just received my system and I'm a little pissed that the camera mount only allows 1 axis adjustment. I'm thinking about trimming the plastic on the mount to allow for 2 axis adjustment. Did you have any issues getting your cameras adjusted correctly?
Len Polidori I did not. The cameras were maneuverable in all directions and also had a “reverse” feature if you did need to use it.
Hey man how much do these cameras cost?
I believe this setup with 6 POE cameras with NVR was around $700 a couple of years ago. Prices have dropped since then so you should be able to find better deals.
Thank you for this video, it’s the only one that I could find that involved install with soffit
Thanks for the video!
Awesome video. Just what I was looking for. Well done thanks for the video.
Thanks Stephen, good luck with your installation.
I found your video after seeing a company using your footage to promote their cameras on Facebook. The company is EyeCube being promoted by IndiGoGo. I hope they paid you.
Thanks Scott for letting me know. I am surprised that you recognized my video clips from the first few seconds of EyeCube's video. Although EyeCube should have at least asked me, I am not concerned that they used parts of my video. Hopefully you find the right camera system that works best for you.
@@jbaswoll3221 I have been trying to figure out a good way to remove my aluminum soffit to do what you did. I saw their ad then searched UA-cam and came across your video.
Great video, Thank you Sir .
Looks like you were filming a horror movie, when you went up the roof lmao😅😅😂

I placed a thin piece of wood, which I painted to match, underneath the soffit to avoid drilling into the soffit itself. Works and blends perfectly. You can also use aluminum sheet.
Going to do the same kind of install on the same kind of house this weekend. I want to be prepared. Could you list all the supplies and gear needed?
How d it go? Doing mine next weekend

Quality video!
I DEF appreciate this video!!!!!
Good job! It looks like my work is cutout for this weekend. Those 2x4's are a good idea and thanks! My only thought or add is to use longer screws and measure some hollow tubes for standoffs so the cheap vinyl soffits don't pucker in. (I have the same cheap vinyl soffits). My problem is I have a couple areas with a 3-1/2" fascia on the soffit so I'm guessing a matching junction box or something.
I agree, James L, in the comments, mentioned "to use a 3/4" blocking as a spacer so when you tighten the screws it doesn't collapse the vinyl." Good luck with your install!
@@jbaswoll3221 .. Thanks and thanks for the tip. 👍😎👍
What is a 3/4 inch blocking? Also what do hollow tubes do?
@@redfirewolf4186 .. If the screw goes through the tube then it won't (shouldn't) go in any further. So determine a flush length for the tubes and the vinyl or aluminum soffit won't pucker in. The blocking is something under the 2x4 to extend to the soffit (touching it); I'd think about treated lumber at that point from water getting trapped in-between.
Great video thx 👍🏼
thanks Sheba6779, good luck with you install if you are planning one.
Great job videoing this installation, given you didn't have any help. Thanks for doing it.
Fly OnaWall no problem. I really don’t post DYI stuff but when I was looking for videos for my install I noticed nobody had a video quite what I was looking for. Good luck to you if you are going to do an install.
What would the charge be for a installation like this? Great Job by the way.
8inu1 I’m not too sure. I’d imagine somewhere between $200-$300.
@@jbaswoll3221 Ok. I just finished my install. Wasnt as hard as I thought. Thx for sharing.
Thank you!
how many feet of ethernet cable is required per camera ? and what is maximum length one can use ?
The maximum length for CATV is typically 100 meters (just over 300 feet). I would assume each camera company has their own specifics regarding length. The one I installed was POE (power over ethernet) and didn't require any additional power requirements to the camera. Most bundle purchases will provide the cable which should be more than enough to work with. The house in this video is around 2500 living space and had plenty of cable to work with (came with five 300 feet rolls).
Great video, but did he not sound just like Forest, Forest Gump???
Great video very useful
i saw you plug in the ETHERNET but how are the cameras Powered ???
Joe Cronin Show these are POE (powered over Ethernet). The NVR Ethernet ports provides the power required to operate the cameras.

Thanks for going thru the trouble of filming this, it's really helpful!
Great video however I'm going to hire a company to pull the cat 5 for me and I will take it from there. It's just too easy to step through a ceiling when doing this stuff.
