It’s almost certainly a mako judging by the shape of the dorsal fin, dark blue coloration, and overall body shape. A white shark would be more of a dark gray on top and have a sharp jagged line where the white countershading begins, and the dorsal fin would be less swept backward. A white shark would also be more heavily built. This is probably a 9-10 foot (3 meter) mako. They tend to get a bit stockier above that length, whereas white sharks are stocky from birth.
@@bluemarlin8138 I did not describe the shape of fin
sharks are MAN EATERS , not peaceful
Mako.
Yeah, it looks like a small great white on first glance but its most certain Shortfin Mako. Both are the are same shark subspecies called the mackrel sharks and look prety similar. Recognized eziely by by both sides of the tail being same size as it looks in the video. Most other shark species have uper fin of the tail much longer then lower part. So it has to be either Shortfin Mako, Longfin Mako or juvenile Great white, and Shortfin Makos are most common so it probably it..
Agreed. The dorsal on a white is usually more triangular, so this is probably a mako with it being more swept back. It would also be relatively skinny for even a juvenile white shark.
Juvenile great white 100%
Arguably a Mako or a juvenile Great White, but nowhere near 4.5 metres. 2.5-3 metres maximum
He is lost poor baby.
we dont have on halkidiki so dont worry you can come.. sharks are on the south side of greece on north we dont have
Juvenile mako i think
Den trwei anthropous leei h allh 😂🤦♂️
Οξύρρυγχος καρχαρίας
Shortfin Mako (Isurus oxyrinchus)
Could be a blue. I don't think I've ever seen a news report about a Mako in Greece.
@@SharksInGreece Ok, I stand corrected then. Recently, a VERY experienced spear-fisherman claimed he was followed by a massive Great White up to the shallows in South Evoia (in a place I have spear-fished many times myself). It seems that there are more sharks now? Not sure.
@@C_R_O_M________ yes this is what we believe. In greece we found 2 or 3 great whites per year. Mostly juveniles
Definitely a juvenile great white.

great white 😃
красиво
Γλαύκος ειναι
Can you tell me where is that exactly?!
Thats a great white.without a doubt
Longfin mako ..
In my opinion it is either a dolphin or a porgbeagle shark
A Dolphin??? The tail is vertical mate, learn some basic anatomy!
Saltwater trout
i cant believe some ppl talking about dolphin, are you blind? clearly, its a shark!
Octopus mate
Not a shark. A dolphin !
Mako. Look at the dorsal fin and mouth
Could be a juvenile white shark...
Nicklas4500 I'd bet its a juvenile white shark. The med is thought to be a nursery for White's.. I know they give birth of Malta do it could well be a white ...
you kidding me ! lol all the experts in the comments guessing what kind of shark it could be ! Dont you realize its a fucking dolphin loool
A Dolphin with a vertical tail???...
- 😲😨😰🖐🖐 Oh man i can t belive it is a dream...nightmare.... shark în Greece...and a big one....ops...i will be much carefoul this can be Indeed a serios danger if you meet him în the sea .Your holidays may be the last if you are attacked by that fish.
Yeah. Im now
looking on the Video at 0:50-0:55 i would say it is a shortfin Mako shark - also quite common in european Waters...
Could be a blue...
Mako shark, salmon or porbeagle shark.....could be a reef shark too - maybe a Baby great White - but i'm pretty sure that it is a porbeagle or salmon shark. Great Whites, are very common in greek Waters too...
Great Whites common in Greek waters? Hahahaha! Yeah they are everywhere (sarcastic)!!!! Maybe 1 or 2 sightings in 100 years! Moreover, there aren't any reef sharks here either.
Isurus oxyrinchus ?
lapalissiano charcharodon charcharias
ΦΑΝΤΑΣΤΙΚΗ ΜΗΛΟΣ!!!
This is the first time ive ever seen a shark actually swim with its dorsal fin out of water
You mean you never watched Jaws?? lol
Yes, they normally fold them in so you can't see them coming.
Η Αλεξανδράκη ειναι αυτη;
Looking at its dorsal fin it could be a great white shark, a mako shark, a blue shark (actually a bit too bulky for a blue shark, I guess) or a silky shark. But silky sharks are very rare in the Mediterranean sea; therefore, I doubt it to be a silky shark. I think it's a great white shark, although I have to admit that I'm not 100 % sure about it. I find it very hard to identify what shark it is. It would be easier, if I could see the pectoral fins and the snout a little more clearly. But that goes for everyone, I think. Just because the following shark is mentioned in the comment section: It's definitely not a lemon shark as they live not even close to the Mediterranean sea and have markedly shorter dorsal fins. Plus, their second dorsal fin is almost as big as their first one. But in this case you can't even detect the second dorsal fin. I know I may appear as a know-it-all but I just wanted to express my thoughts. So, don't roast me :)
Nikolas Konstantinidis it was probobly a dusky shark
You could be right. But I've never read or heard that dusky sharks would appear in Greek waters. But still, you could be right. I just haven't heard about it.
I quite disagree with you about the great white thing, their dorsal fin is much more 1/1/1 triangle sided, this one is far too elongated. Pause at 0:10, you'll see it. Plus as for a great whites, when you see their dorsal, you usually see their tailfin too ! That said, I know blue ones are slim, but this one doesn't look quite buff to me (perhaps a matter of perception), add to that his side fins who seems quite long (between 0:10 and 0:13), I think you you were right on the blue assumption. Still, the color seems a bit pale for a blue one. In short, I don't know what the fuck it is too lol But no great white.
0:46 Look at its caudal fin. The upper lobe is as large as the lower lobe, which clearly indicates a mackerel shark. That leaves only Mako, Porbeagle or a juvenile Great White.
I'm 95% sure this is a Porbeagle shark Ludwig (5% remaining=mako). Caudal fin definitely not from a Great White.
It's a dolphin its tail moves up and down not side to side like a fish would
racey12 it is as you say, clearly a dolphin
nope..it's a blue shark
sure not dolphin....great white

That's a fucking white shark wtf?
Nah i think it`s a little lemon shark
Haha , lemon sharks in Greece ? That's not very likely to happen ... :P
well its thin is shaped like a lemon shark and then the size is not too big
90% off the sea isnt explored so we dont now if lemon sharks come to greece or this shark has gone wrong way like on the news a white shark that was tagged with a gps ship was heading to england but hes probs dead now cause its cold
Combo O_o Well , maybe you are right . It is true though that Greece has some great Whites.
