I loved it. Just what I was thinking of building including the corners.i just need a bit more headroom. I was debating over 2x4 or 2x2 framing. Or cutting down a vintage aluminum truck top but I may have to keep looking.

You should make the door window so it can open. If someone were to shut the tailgate you could reach threw and open it.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I like it so much that I am building it on my Colorado. I especially like the tailgate closing over the door. The Colorado has a locking tailgate which makes double security. I am not putting a window in the door I am using that space for a 5000 BTU ac, I too live in Florida and familiar with the heat. Your Bass videos are awesome, THANKS FOR SHARING. I will finish by Saturday, a quick build.

Nice build man , I took your idea and built this same diy camper shell and it came out great , I made mine about 6 inches taller and added and fold down bunk for my son too, maybe I’ll post a video soon . Thanks for the inspiration
