    My tenant told me they were planning to buy a house in a few months. I saw a new van in the driveway. I said "nice new car". They said, we just bought it. I knew then that they were going to be staying for several more years as they just screwed their ability to buy a house.

      Idk how you can’t? I’m an old gen Z (1997) bought my first house 3 years ago. Finance is basic math. The stuff you learn from 1st grade to 3rd grade. Make your income higher than your expenses. Easier said than done? Work more hours, work multiple jobs, be willing to sacrifice your most productive years to your goals. Your 20s and 30s are the best physical shape you’ll ever be in. Use that physicality to get a jump on all the lazy people around you. Next, stop taking out stupid, bad debt. Especially if you can’t afford it. Stop eating out the time. I bet if you looked at your monthly expenses you’d find somewhere between 20-30% of your expenses are bullshit spending. Fast food, dumb shit from Amazon. Is all that dumb shit worth your future? It harder to get back into the game when you’ve been out of it so long, but you can get back in. And even better? You can help educate and prepare your kids to live a better life than you did. Isn’t that the whole point of life? To make the world a better place than when you arrived?

      @@daketora Well the issue I am more referring to is the cost of housing itself, and multinational corps buying entire neighborhoods of real estate to hold and sell. There's definitely a systematic issue at play here. Of course, managing finances is step one. But actually finding a property that isn't inflated to hell is another can of worms. Very good points you've made though.

    • @daketora
      @daketora 4 місяці тому

      @@nannerpuss9430 I don’t have an issue with corporations buying property. In fact that’s what give people the option to rent and have a place to live. The biggest reasons housing got so expensive in the last few years was inflation and ‘covid relief’ which didn’t relieve anything. It should also be illegal for housing to be sold to people who aren’t US citizens. We have a massive issue with people who don’t even live here buying property and holding it. That’s way worse than the corporations that do business here buying real estate to expand their portfolio. Housing won’t be going back down, and it will be harder for those in their 30s to get into a home before 40 or 50 depending on age. And the young people (16-25) really need to be educated on how finances work so they don’t end up in the same situation millennials are in.

      To who? I’m Gen z and I own a home. And I grew up with a single mom who worked 3 jobs. Sounds like excuses to be lazy and ignorant.

    • @Sunny-kz9kn
      @Sunny-kz9kn 4 місяці тому

      @@daketora it’s actually privilege. I’ll be able to own a home too, because I’m very fortunate and have no debt, yet I have friends who work full-time jobs and can’t afford health insurance and to feed themselves at the same time. Also, mental and physical disabilities are a thing. Even if someone WANTS to work, whether or not they can is entirely separate, and that’s not laziness. Also, your mom’s hard work doesn’t count for you. What did YOU do to get where you are?

    • @daketora
      @daketora 4 місяці тому

      @@Sunny-kz9kn so which is it? privilege or hard work? you cant say in the same breath that its privilege and then tell me my moms hard work and struggle doesn't count for me. and then point to how hard I've worked to get to where i am. my whole point in bringing up my upbringing was to point to hard work as the success factor. and disabled people dont need you to make excuses for them. and they dont need to make excuses either, there are so many opportunities for people regardless of disability.

    • @Sunny-kz9kn
      @Sunny-kz9kn 4 місяці тому

      @@daketora If you’d read my comment - hard work is important, but you can work hard and not be successful. It’s not laziness or ignorance. Your mother’s hard work GAVE you the privilege to be successful. If you’re fighting to put food on the table, it’s tough to do anything else. And - I DO have a disability and work anyway, but many people can’t, and that’s not an excuse. My disability is different from someone else’s. It’s not an excuse that it’s difficult to find work that’s flexible to allow for physical or mental health days, appointments, pays well enough to keep you above water with whatever healthcare bills you pay, etc. I’m glad you’re doing well, but that doesn’t mean you’re better than anyone who isn’t.
