one of my fav bands
Classic Aussie pub rock!
I brought the EP in the 90's and have been a fan since.
Damn... Bittersweet is so awesome. ❤️
We were lucky to have had two great Mod bands here in New York tri-state area. The Secret Service AND The Mod Fun. ✌🏼😸🎸
This is after coming off their tour with the Bangles.
Try to get their 6 songs Mini-LP. This is a great blend of beat and 13th Floor Elevators. Spiced up with awesome 6-string Rickenbacker guitar playing. Must have!
Fuck hayride to hell is such a cool song
They were so great!!
un temazoo
The hoodoos are an excellent Aussie band
Salt pill for the drummer if'n it was me...
I was at this show. . . still have the backstage sticker that one of the crew gave me. I was 15 at this show and had to change my DOB on my student ID. All the Good Times I Had. . .
fantastic live band, saw them many times in the eighties, they piss on all those 80s hair metal bands that were around at the time
That's because in Australia in the 80's we had loads of bands like the Hoodoo Gurus we went to see at the pubs alot- we did not produce hair metal bands at all.
Wish I'd been there. I was too young and was not clubbing yet.
Saw this tour in Vancouver at 86th Street. Such a great night.
Cheers Bill, just stumbled upon this whilst researching a piece for my "10 Best Gigs" for Anorak Thing!
William Luther, thanks for stopping by, great to hear from ya! Let me know when your next Anorak Thing post comes out, perhaps post a link here as I’m sure others would appreciate it. Hope all’s well!
@@williamjones4266 Will do!!
Thanks so much for posting this, Bill! Hope you're well. Do let me know if you ever find that holy grail of mine, the Mosquitos' "Do You Wanna Hurt Me" video that aired on U68.
Did you guys participate in a certain MTV competition with this? (And if you did, why do I have your song written down under another title. I take it you never had a song called "Beat Me To The Punch".) Please forgive me if I confused you with another Secret Service from NYC -- old age; it's a bitch.
Hey there, the band was not involved in any MTV competitions, and the title you mentioned was not in their catalog. Might have been another group with the same name, as it's been used by other bands, including one from Sweden, another from North Carolina, and I think even another from the NY area, though several years earlier. Hope you enjoyed this tune!
@@williamjones4266 Thank you. That's a relief. Was wondering why I wrote that down and why this video and song weren't jogging my memory. Now to find out who the other Secret Service from NY was who actually did the song in question (but not several years earlier - 1987). "It's All Happening Here" is much more memorable than that other Secret Service or I would've remembered it!
One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Reunion!!
Saw this tour in Houston. Gurus were SO great live!
Am I the only one hoping for a better video/audio synch?
Brad Shepherd is an effing stud axe grinder!
I've never seen the Secret Service. This is awesome.
Ya missed a great band, Cindy. I've also got a few songs posted on YT from a live show: ua-cam.com/video/zp294Tsq4-w/v-deo.html
I was at this very show and loved it.
god you were fortunate.
I was there too, great night!
Me too
I was there that night! Brings back great memories.
Peter, I was there too, and it was pretty amazing, especially Leilani. I must've watched that performance a hundred times.
A canon of material where every line of poetic sense is laid over a rocking instrumental steam roller with a vocal delivery that's deep and mature, dirty, funny, dry - I run out of superlatives... nothing like this band ever.
🔝 🔝 🔝 🔝 🔝
🔝 🔝 🔝 🔝 🔝
I was at this show in '87, do you have any more songs besides pt 1,2,3? I'm looking for the end
If you go to part 3 of 3, you'll see the end. You can see the entire show in these three parts, nothing else from it was broadcast on MTV.
I was there! October or November 1986!
