    Well, this is old, but what a great video! I am sighted, and it's hard for me. I tried to get rid of my Swiffer, and had to replace it for just this reason. I realized Swiffer is perfect for these types of things. I hate finding glass, or sometimes that lost needle, months after an incident 😱 What great instruction; I need to remember you next time instead of freaking out, lol! Do you know, in non emergency occasions, you can use a microfiber cloth on Swiffers? You can poke that in the holes instead of the disposable wipes. They also make washable mop pads. And, they are very gimmicky, but there are socks for cleaning too. I don't know how you would like them though, because they are bumpy (they are sort of like an old fashioned stringy mop, but as a sock). Maybe instead of that, you can get oversized, cheap fuzzy socks, so when you have this issue, you can go back and forth in your crocs but with the sacrificial fuzzy socks on them and catch those little bitty shards (in addition to the Swiffer). Just trying to add my 2 cents, lol. It's ok if my 2 cents weren't helpful, just thinking outloud. Then in print 😆 It's so cool you are an OT! What a great perspective you could bring! Thank you for sharing your insights ❤️

    I forgot to tell you: To poor things like batter, I use an ice cream scoop. Thank you, I have just gotten into gardening because my mom has heart failure and can’t do it herself. She loves her garden and she is known for having one of the prettiest gardens in the neighborhood. Do you have any ideas though on how to keep critters away from things like her peach tree? We tried putting chimes on there, and a fake snake, but nothing was working. She lives in Florida. I normally live in Greece, and I’m thinking I might do some gardening in Greece as well, I’m just trying to figure out ways to do things right now. Also, when birds or animals have been at your plants or tomatoes etc., is it very easy to tell just by feel? I am using things like be my AI, and can’t wait till the video assistant comes out in a few weeks time. But as you say, I’m having to do quite a bit by field. I am almost totally blind.

    • @Insight4blind
      @Insight4blind 4 місяці тому

      Well, unfortunately, I don’t have a quick fix for this one. I find the best method for detecting damage to plants, fruits, or vegetables is to use good old-fashioned sense of touch. Peaches are just plain messy and they are going to continue attracting critters. You might want to consider adopting a cat to police your yard. I know that sounds funny, but it could potentially help the situation.😼

    i have a different system that i use, i have two laundry baskets, one for tops, jumpers and trousers/leggings, another for underware and nightware, when i do my washing, i have the tops, jumpers and trousers/leggings in one basket, this load i put on a fast wash, as i have a bump on stuck on the dial which i can use to line up with the numbers and i can feel and count the number of clicks, for underware, i put it on either number 5 or number 6, which are long wash cycles, and for bedding and towels i put on number 6, which is a 60 degree wash, the advantage of my machine is that it is also a tumble drier, so i can put it on number 12, i only use this setting for underware, towels and bedding

    I was wondering what would be the best light fixture to stick to the wall in the basement where the washer and dryer are?My mom,nephew and I rent a three bedroom townhouse and the ceiling light string broke.I am short and there is no chair for me to stand on and even if I stood on a chair I still can't reach the light fixture.Would a stick on light be ok to give enough light in the basement by the dryer that can be pressed to give the area enough brightness for me to do my laundry

    • @Insight4blind
      @Insight4blind 7 місяців тому

      Absolutely. There are many options for you. I suggest going to Lowe’s or Home Depot and checking out their lighting aisle. Look for an LED light that can peel and stick to the wall. You might even want to consider tape lights. They are thin and narrow, but they peal in stick and can be very bright. Some even work off of a remote which might be ideal for your situation. If you don’t find something at the Home Depot or Lowe’s I suggest going to Amazon online to view your options. Good luck.

      @@Insight4blind The lesson worked so perfectly. The person I was working with had never cooked anything before so I felt very privileged to be the first person to teach him anything about hobs and saucepans. We had one beautifully fried egg and one happy tummy x

      I understand your fear, but I hope that you can get to a place where you do not allow your fears to keep you from living life to the fullest. There are many things you can do to keep functioning in the dark. People who are totally blind, do it every day. I suggest that you look for blind services in your area so you can find an orientation and mobility specialist to work with you. Such a professional will be able to teach you how to stay independent and mobile in any type of lighting. Good luck. Keep moving…🧑🏼‍🦯

      I know the inside of my house and I do not go outside at night until the next day then I go on my walks and on the buses to the local mall and back home while using my white cane.I now have a lighted night light that uses two batteries that brightens up the stairs going into the kitchen and back to my room,so now it is much easier to get around the inside area of my house.

    dear jazz how does a blind person cut their nails and toe nails ?

    • @Insight4blind
      @Insight4blind Рік тому

      Hi Margaret. If you have a good feeling in your fingertips and hands, you should be able to clip your nails by using your sense of touch. Take your time and gently squeeze the clipper to be sure you know where the sharp edges are before you pinch all the way down. You might want to start by just clipping the tips and then taking a file to file and shape the nail down to the length you prefer. No worries. You’ve got this.

    How do you delete a waytag in your cloud if it's a sticker and you're no longer using it and how many way tags can you use at 1 time

    • @Insight4blind
      @Insight4blind Рік тому

      Hi! Good questions. The good news is that you were not limited in your number of weight tax that you can use, so feel free to tag everything. If you no longer need the information on a sticker, you can simply edit the tag and delete everything that is on it. This will Simply reset it as a blank tag that you are free to use in the future with new information.

    Hi jazz, I really enjoy your channel. I am very new to vision loss, I started as legally blind over two years ago and very recently as of December 2022. I am almost blind now. I will find your videos with great information that help me. I especially love your tags all the way around system. I will have to buy the way around tags so I can label all my laundry and the food in my cupboard. Keep up the great work. I am looking forward to many more videos.
