Watch this if YOU want to learn GERMAN - Simple Advice | Tips | Resources | A1-C2
In this video I share a plan on how to learn German. We all know that German is a difficult language but learning German doesn't have to be. In this video I'm going to give you a step by step guide split up into various stages of language learning that you can implement that will show you how to learn German without stressing over how hard the grammar is. With this plan you should enjoy learning and find it to be a fun experience where you can explore the language. If you wanted a video that tells you exactly what you need to know for each exam and focuses on what grammar points are important: THIS VIDEO IS NOT THAT. I learned German passively through the use of comprehensible input and that is what I want to share.

    This is great - thank so much! I have the free trial of LingQ and found the information they sent me about how to use it quite confusing and overwhelming, After watching your presentation, I am already able to navigate the website/app and make a start. I'm a bit confused about what you say about Playlists though - their purpose and how to create them as you sort of skate over this very quickly in the video.

    Thank you for this helpful video. What is the meaning of the "LingQs" within the app? When I was using the free version it said I could only have 20 free LingQs. I bought the paid version and I still have no idea what a LingQ is in the context of a lesson. I think it has something to do with each word but I'm not sure.

    I tried it for a month and I didn't like it. It has several problems: 1. First, the dialogues should be ordered by level. 2. The automatic system keeps recommending audios that I have already listened to. 3. Studied dialogues later appear as unstudied. 4. When you write to support they do not answer. 5. I canceled my subscription 3 times and they never sent me a confirmation email. 6. It is very expensive for what it offers.

    when I import a video on utube about Friends series, I couldn’t find out the definition of slang and idioms the characters used. I think LingQ works out with words only.

    • @kylanguages
      @kylanguages 4 місяці тому

      Try highlighting a few words around the slang term. This makes it’s a phrase and sometimes LingQ works better like this. Or go to sentence mode and translate the sentence. Saved meanings on LingQ are based on previous data. This might mean that the word has not been saved before. (Maybe)

    Thanks for an excellent video. I looked at an earlier one but the interface was so confusing, it out me off. Glad I stuck with it. LingQ has so much going for it (though the process of importing lessons doesn’t seem to be for the faint-hearted!). My biggest issue though is the name. LingQ? It’s terrible. This company is dooming a brilliant app behind a stupid pun that most users won’t get and that reeks of 1980s marketing. Change the name, someone: this app deserves to be a hit.

    It's not letting me click on the words to see its meaning during the lessons. It says I have a reached a limit of 10 words and wants me to update to a premium plan.

      It’s been a long time since I used the free version. They might have limited it to entice people to upgrade sooner. However, if you signed up with my LingQ you get more time to use to app before you see this message.

    Hello, thank you for this comprehensive overview. How do you save the translation of trenbarre verben in German? It seems there is no way to link the verb with its preposition at the end...

    • @kylanguages
      @kylanguages 6 місяців тому

      Yes this is a little bit annoying, I generally save the base meaning of the root verb and then add the translation as a saved meaning per separable verb that I encounter. I can imagine in the future there is will an option to multi select “words”

    Hi - very helpful, comprehensive tour. Can you comment on the number of errors in the app, relative to other language apps? So much of the content seems to come through API’s or other sources and people - is it really vetted well or is there a lot of junk? Also, is the “known words” list just your own subjective assessment of your understanding? No quiz engine or other, more objective way to see if you e learned a word? Thanks.

    Congrats Kyle on your getting your Masters! I get my degree in Business years ago and have taken a variety of different subjects over the years. I never studied Neuroscience but studied different branches of psychology. I decided to take a full year off of structured academics. I have taken time off due to health, mental burnout, and personal loss for a few months but never taken a year off to do self studying. This isn’t so much meant to be a vacation but get caught up on other things I have been putting on the back burner due to college obligations. I want to finish a few books, work on a few of my Ornithology courses, and my language learning. I found learning Swedish for the past few years helped before trying German again. I am still deciding if I am keeping the Norwegian or not though. Good luck Kyle!
