Nice spots you found there and you got some nice rice size pieces . Warm water is so good, Not ! Been there but it beats a chapped throat and from getting heat stroke. Go find some more, really like your vids. Lots of luck with that gold !

Great video mate. 1” drop per foot is a basic/rough starting point - high or low water flow can change that rule a lot. Don’t bother with a spirit level. Side to side levelness is important. Run some material through sluice & you’ll see if it’s level by how even it’s clearing. I try to run the sluice with the least amount of fall required. Just see how the sluice clears material. Not fast, not too slow. You want heavies to stay in the cells/riffles. But not over full & not completely clearing. Classify more so when water flow/volume is low. When there’s lots of flow, depending on the material, you can get away with not classifying at all. Let the location & conditions dictate sluice set up 👍 You want the water to create a “v” exactly like you have it - ending where the mat starts. Well done mate 👍⛏️⚖️🇦🇺

Thats some chunky lil gold pieces, lookin good Dude. You like those mats ? Sluice box legs make it way quicker to set up and get the right angle on your sluice and small levels you can screw on the sides keep it straight across. yeah, we couldn't see the angle of your sluice because we were pretty much looking down the sluice run or kind of on top. When you showed it towards the end it was easy to see. All good, live and learn.

great gold great filming!!!! try a small line level ...when i used to work with concrete sometimes a slope was needed for rain runoff ect...the bubble is centered between two lines ... an a 2 % drop we tilt level till the bubble was against the line... example ... l o l <----level ... now 2% drop.---> lo l see the bubble (circle) is to the left of center... set up sluice box then place level on box edge an see where the bubble is ...even mark it if you can't remember ..then you'll know your set for a say 1 inch drop for every foot ...or how you want it sloped.. enjoy !!!

Didn’t look like your sluice was set up badly. Dream mat likes to run hot! Don’t be afraid of it. I little tilt either way won’t lose you gold unless you fill all the cells on that side with gold. Nice gold!👍

Hey man its Robert in Riddle. I love the sluice and the dream mat. Where did you get that classifier at? Also great job noticing the steep angle of your box, i was taught to have 1 inch of drop for every foot of sluice. So that looks like a 3 foot sluice and you would want 3 inches of drop. I carry a small line level and a piece of string to accomplish dialing it in. Hope this info helps cuz it would make me feel good to return the favor, I've learned alot watching your videos. Thank you

Love the new format. It's nice to see a change. I made my own classifier, just like yours, out of a fry basket. I learned the hard way, don't run the handle over the basket. Put them on the sides. Easier to spin, and easier to shovel into. Thanks for another awesome video

So so glad you enjoy the snuffer bottle. May it always collect all your smiles on these exciting adventures. It is really hard to get back in the holder if you pull it out. Takes some finesse , but eventually goes back in. Your sluicing playground is so peaceful and the sounds of the water relaxes and smooths out the stresses of life. I always go back to Dan hurds sluice box testing video where he tested with steep angles, unlevel boxes, etc. yes you can lose gold from an improper setup but the reality is, probably not all that noticeable unless your production mining. I noticed it was steep in that one clip but the water flow wasn’t too much. Overall a good result for the first time. Course gold too! Looks like a good spot to hit during the rainy season. Great video as always!
