    Whole sardines in Extra Virgin Olive Oil don't have to be refrigerated and each can is a negotiable instrument. Just pour off the oil, pour in hot sauce and you've got 3 grams of Omega-3s very high protein source. In hard times drink the oil, it's great for your skin.

      I’m starting to fear that those were times of exceptional prosperity that I should have enjoyed more while they were there. Seemed easy to take it for granted at the time. A time where I I could eat off a dollar menu for a couple of bucks. I used to be able to go out and see a movie and go to arcades like Dave and Buster, several times a week and still save a good amount of money. All I’m doing now is buying groceries and trying to save money. I used to go shopping just for fun, now I’ don’t even want to go in a store, even a grocery store. Now it’s like $100 just to buy enough for a couple meals at the grocery store, condiments that used to be .99 are now 3.99. It’s not just you. Thanks for adding to the discussion.

    These "tactical" backpacks are for weekend warriors. They are light duty. I bought one from discount clothing store named Marshalls (for $30). The pack is made of Polyester. Decent fabric but it's not Cordura or ballistic nylon. Zippers are not even YKK. shoulder straps are short as if it was made for a kid. I knew this was kind of a joke Tactical backpack but I bought it anyway and I knew what I was buying and don't plan to use it for anything else but hiking. You get what you pay for!

I watched a video a while back with another reviewer who pointed out the supports which made me question wether I should leave them in but I figured with so many people who travel I’m sure it would be fine. I have to say I don't know how long it will hold up but I was pleasantly surprised how nice this was. The plastic clips clip on securely but I am not so sure how long they will continue to do so and I think I would be careful clipping them in really cold weather. My main issue was that when setting it up for the first time the adjustible slats on the stove side were so tight that they tore the plastic on the rounded bars that they clipped onto when I unclipped to take it down. I had to remove the plastic from the round pieces. It wasn't that big of a deal but didn't like it. Next, I had a little trouble using a propane stove and a 1 lb propane tank. Maybe it can just dangle over the right side but I don't like that there was no support. I would have liked it if the lantern holder could have been switched and mounted on the exact other diagnal side so that you could put the table on the right side and the grill on the left side and then rest your 1 lb propane tank on the table, or if the table area could be just snapped on the right side without having the lantern holder interfere with it because the table edge extends out too far. And that lantern holder seemed a little flimsey to begin with. One other thought that would have put this camp kitchen over the top would be that it would have been nice if I wanted to use the whole top area as a table and that an additional table piece could have been included or available for additional purchase that snapped onto the stove side instead of the stove support. Maybe it could have been marketed as a table with the additional stove supports if one chose to go that route Anyway, it is pretty nice for what it is, compact and lite adn functional. My setup is this table with a triton stove on the right side with a hose and a 5 lb prpane tank in a bucket secured to the leg for added weight, OR a 20 lb propane tank in a plastic crate stored as well. Not using those single-use propane tanks and this negates the need to support the 1 lb tank. Could also leave the lantern support off and position the propane tank crate next to back rear leg and attach and use my propane tree for a prone lantern and the stove and position my Weber Q and stand on the right. But again, if I was bringing my Camp Chef explorer this would have been great as just a table to position near it. Maybe I will fabricate something to extend the table area to the right.

    • @thecompletegeneral8224
      @thecompletegeneral8224 5 місяців тому

      Thanks for sharing your setup and feedback. I just used this for a second time recently and I remember being able to rest the propane tank on the table to the right of the camp grill? I have to go back and review my video footage. You might be able to put the table part on either side. I’ll try to look into it the next time I pull it out

      I took it out on a trip to L.A. as a carry on aboard a flight. I’m still trying to get some videos posted on my other Chanel for that trip. I had it out at beaches and parks however, I didn’t ever highlight it. It wasn’t until I was back that I realized how much I liked it for that purpose. I placed it in an area with my travel items to take again next time. If anyone is interested in glimpses of it on that trip, check my channel named “Grub Territory” I got a travel and family outings theme on that channel, including camping/hiking. More vids showing that pack to come on that Channel. I’ll also try to get it out on a trail and video it when I got a chance, thanks for the suggestion. I’m liking the highland tactical stuff lately.

    I have one. I planned on using it for section hiking the AT. I consider the Savotta sleeping pad a higher quality sleeping pad than the typical foam sleeping pads that fold. I have hiked with it attached to the outside of my pack. Due to its length, while not overwhelming, it can get hung up on tree branches. Nothing bad, just something I noticed. I am also experimenting with a product called Smartshield. It is a waterproof foam insulated pad. Not advertised as a sleeping pad. But, it can be. This foam pad reflects heat. It does just that. Not sure of its comfort yet. Just another thought. Savotta also makes a high quality backpack. I tried it. Except, when the pack was heavy, at 30 pounds plus, I could not figure out how to get the weight off my shoulders and place it at my hips. Too bad. I wanted it to work. Thanks for the info. Best wishes.
