SKAIE HERE! I'm giving my honest review of Hellblade 2. I had some really high expectations and am a little let down. I'm just one person and of course these opinions are my own. I would love to know your opinions, so let me know in a comment down below.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is the sequel to the award-winning Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The game was released on May 21, 2024, and is developed by Ninja Theory and published by Xbox Game Studios.
In this game, Senua, the protagonist, returns in a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland. Intent on saving those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny, Senua faces a battle of overcoming the darkness within and without.
The game offers a crafted experience of cinematic immersion with beautifully realized visuals and encapsulating sound. Players experience the world through Senua’s eyes and ears, as a Celtic warrior who experiences psychosis. The game takes players on an epic journey across 10th century Iceland, recreated from real locations in stunning detail.
The gameplay consists of realistic violent combat, and narrative scenes sometimes showing extreme gore. Enemies react realistically to wounds, and are dispatched with intense killing animations involving blood and vocalisations of pain. Some strong language is used, and partial nudity can be seen during some sequences.
The game has been praised for delivering one of the most gripping interactive and sensory experiences of 2024. It features cryptic mazes and puzzles typically solved by observing matching runic symbols and other methods of altering the world around Senua to traverse the environment. Battles consist of one-on-one showdowns in which Senua must use her skills with a blade and her mirror, which grants her a limited bullet-time (or perhaps sword-time?) ability to deal rapid slashes against her opponent.
