Thank you so much for your videos best wishes from Hamburg/Germany
Ralph knows his stuff
You have amazing patience
Ralph did some great videos. I have some but a lot have dissapeared, alas
Really inspiring video, You do a very good job
Great video. Thank you Not having a hoist, I made an oil filter case catcher out of a length of dowel and a tin of about the diameter of the housing. I jack this up to the housing and the release it and do the task rather more simply than before Your video shows a much better way of doing the job
Lovely work and very inspiring
This is a joy to watch. I have a later iteration of this engine (Shadow II) and it really is great to see how her insides work and the amount of skill you have. From Australia
Lovely work.
This is super helpful! Thank you so much!!!
What are the 2 metal extensions for? How should they be installed?
Thank you Mr. Steve!
I used to own SDW441. I always wondered what happened to it.
thanks for the information what about greasing the nipples on the steering ?
Great video! Is all this relevant to a Series 1? I have a 1957
The second guy on this video, Sounds like Herman Munster! Anybody else think so too?
That is one beautiful car.
What a needlessly complex and time consuming way to build a differential... This was posted 7 years ago, so I know there is a conversion to get rid of that useless felt seal.
From what I've learned so far about these RR rear ends, is the felt rear seal and its inability to do just that. It allows the oil to seep out of the rear end, and also introduces water into the case. Along with that comes dirt, it's a recipe for disaster for all the machined surfaces in the rear end.
Great Series thank you for posting. I hope you post something on setting up the gear linkage and its adjustment. Carb rebuild and the coke mechinism would be great as well as these are a bit unique Hugh
I have hours of video I have not posted but to edit it and post was starting to become a pain in the ass and I did not get to work on the cars as much so I quit posting
Many thanks for posting what you have done to date. I love these videos and they have been a great help keeping my 3 off S3 bentley's on the road. I hope you decide to post more in the future even if it is unedited as it is such a help. Thanks Hugh@@steveshouseofspeed3725
Hi Having watched this excellent video I would appear that it is possible to replace the oil pump with the engine still in the car. At present I have very low oil pressure so was hoping I could replace the pump and conrod bearings while the engine is still in the car. Is this possible as a short term fix as I cannot afford to rebuild the engine at present? Hugh
brilliant !
Thank you for the example. I am rebuilding a ram on a 58 S1. Should be the same.
Nobody will ever know where he got the parts
HELLO hello hello
Hi Steve. Great videos. Do you know how to take the front seat backs off ? I need to add more foam but don’t want to cut the leather from the front as I’ve seen others do. Thanks from England. Will
There are very thin pieces of wood that the leather on the back of the seats are glued to and if you Also take the picnic table Out you can pry that wood off. But there is no access from the back of the seat there's another layer of wood so you Can't go in from have to take the back. You can then remove the staples around the edges so that you can remove the leather on the front without having to cut it
Hi Steve. We (John's Workshop) and I are trying to pull my steering column. We cannot get the shaft to come out. Hoping you will see this message soon :)
Hi Steve. Thank you so much for the video. I am wanting to upgrade my SCII to led and your video was a huge help. I am in Springfield IL. Any chance I could take a peak at your car? Myself and a fried have been digging through many years of neglected maintenance. We would love to see one that is correct. We have run into lots of little questions. Not sure how to pm on UA-cam.
amazing man wish i could of done the job with you to learn
amazing work of art
be nice to have the sealent in a gun so its easy to apply no mess lovely job
brilliant be build mine one day you can
is it a 6.7 same as shadow engine please what a job nice brilliant tips thanks
No
The engine is from a Cloud 3 so it is L410 6,230 cc (380 cu in) and these were also fitted to the Shadow etc. until 1970. Then the engine is L410 6,750 cc (412 cu in).
Very good information
I am working on mu Silver Cloud now. In this video you show rear upper corner trim panel with mirror, light and cigarette lighter. I need to remove to repair the mirror. I have remove screws under door seal but the panel is still held at the rear . Do you have any video or suggestions to help me remove that panel??

Good for youGood for you
Do you know where I could find that post 55 article?
Rolls Royce owner's club has a website and you go to the silver cloud section
@@steveshouseofspeed3725 Thank you for the quick reply. I will check it out. I’m trying to find the source of considerable looseness in the steering wheel. I am thinking that much of it could be the “coupling and distance piece” in this 1961 Silver Cloud II.
where did you buy the wiring harness for this car ?
I made them and British wiring will provide all the parts including the wire cloth covered
Where did you get those new cables from?
Where did You get the new wiring harness ?
Sir where can i buy gasket set for rolls royce silver spirit 1986
Albers in Indiana
Usually to check a valve and seat use Prussian blue which will give you much more accurate reading of the sealing surface also alloy engines will always have a lower torque setting than their cast iron equivalent due to the expansion rate of aluminium
Have a look at a video of baxter’s garage putting the gudgon pin clip granted it for a Harley Davidson but same clip In addition piston ring rotate in service so it not relevant where you place the gap’s usually most engine manufactures recommend opposite to each other to maximise length of the gas pathway Thanks for sharing
What is the correct tool to set the rivets, where did you get yours ? Even if you had shown the end of it in this video, I would know what to look for.
Any tractor supply store should have them I got mine at rural king
