The second part to to Yo MTV Flies SON!!! previously: My Buddy Phil wakes Me up to go flying in a single engine plane down the Jersey Shore and up the Hudson, on a Beautiful Sunday Morning. The only way to deal with the excitement and the nerves is to do my own spontaneous parody of MTV Cribs. This is the actual flight footage.

Saw them in Milwaukee that June at The Kool Jazz Festival in Washington Park.
I am from San Jose California and I remember this concert taking place back then, and several years later unbeknownst to me I found the live recording LP at a record store,, to this day I still have it and it’s in good condition.
Super cool! priceless!
Nothing beats music played from the soul this music ain’t goin no wheree 🙌
when giants roamed the earth
I've always been a hat guy. People don't understand the "beanies" that I wear. These are my jazz hats. I qualify. I play music. Ron Carter's hat is the real deal.
Ed McMahon @ 3:20
They call it JAZZ. Thank you, gentlemen.
I really enjoy the album Tyner and Jones recorded around this time with Pharoah and Richard Davis on bass- but I wish they had recorded an album with Freddie and Ron as well- phenomenal!
The duality of America: glorious music under a sexist trope banner, and the constant cutaway of white folk eating, dancing or snapping fingers out of time.
Beautiful footage, man! Although it seems to me that most people attending there didn't care about the music being played.
Hubbard !!!!
Enorme !
Elvin Jones and Ron Carter..inmortal legends of jazz. Freddie Hubbard and Mc Coy Tyner they trespass human comprehension. Hence most people can't grasp these marvelous notes.
Is that Bill Cosby's "I Spy" partner Robert Culp at the 4:49 mark?
Yes!
@@BartonFarley1 If only Salome Gens were in the audience! We would have had an "I Spy" and an "Outer Limits" reunion! Culp was in an "Outer Limits" episode with Salome Jens, "Corpus Earthling," which aired in November 1963.
Bobby swings hard!
6000 viewers, I can't believe it, some other videos of trashy music without any artistic values at all has 1 billion viewers, yes 1B, a complete disaster in term of taste for music, I pray to God that someday the people learn to admire a real music played by real artists.
Amen Maestro, Amen !
It is called free will.... we also know that vegetables are good for us but we still eat cake and shorten our lives. We get fat and shorten our lives... I love McCoy and Freddie Hubbard! and all on stage but it is about choices. The love and passion we feel about this, someone else may feel as passionate about some silly POP song..... room for everyone
Hey, lots of jazz musicians turned silly pop songs into classics!
Remember John Coltrane? He took a corny show tune and turned it into a vehicle for out-of-this-world improvisation. And McCoy Tyner took an overlooked Beatles tune, "She's Leaving Home", and turned it into a beautiful waltz. There have been, and no doubt will be, other instances.
I had the distinct honor of being in attendance at this event. the acoustics were phenomenal and I will always remember it!!! I had the pleasure of having box seating which was great, but truly appreciated the sound when I wandered further up in the seating. best concert ever!!!
Troy Titus AMAZING!
I was there in the crowd that phenomenal day with this unreal quartet followed by Weather Report...what a day that was!
...Great post...Thanks, Fox...
Grind means to put your best effort in your work.. well done.! Even Filippinas grind for der muney all so their families can have a chance.
man, Freddie is just ripping it.
Killing and no clone excites me like these cats!
@Arava18 I believe its called inner glimpse, and written by Mccoy himself! Cheers mate Sam
I saw this on VHS in the 80's; still exiting today. THANKS!!
Get a life!
Mr. Scofield....grow up man!
