I think without a time limit this mission is not much harder on Insane than Normal like most other missions. But the energy limit of 16000 energy is a big difference and requires an interesting approach like yours. I have currently broken my energy record on Normal and will start this mission with over 300000 energy. I will be able to afford a lot of direct fights. My ,,Hyper Velocity Cannon Python Tracks'' VS all NEXUS ground units.😀
@@amxhwvhmvawx2735 I think the same as you. They should add a 2 hours time limit to this mission on insane, that would be a nice challenge to end the campaign

My personal preference. I only research NEXUS bodies because of the new alloys. I don't use the NEXUS bodies. I don't research any NEXUS weapons, starting with the Flashlight Laser. Reason 1. I like it better when different factions don't have the same things. Reason 2. The good weapons from NEXUS come very late anyway. The maximum damage power and rate of fire in the last mission. Reason 3. It's just not worth it because after the third campaign there is no fourth one where you can use the weapons extensively. Of course, this only applies to Normal. Perhaps on Insane it is necessary to always have the next best technology available.
For me, Gamma 8 is the easiest mission of all three campaigns. NEXUS has absolutely no chance against the defense that you can build up for Gamma 8 in Gamma 7. As in Beta 11, the mission time here is the same as on ,,Normal''. However, as in Beta 11, there are more enemy units here. 58:12 --- On Normal, I have 250 to 300 enemy units. On Insane, you have over 500 enemy units. I'm very jealous of that on Normal.
This mission is very easy. This is due to the preparation option in Gamma 6. I also destroy all NEXUS factories in the first 5 minutes of the mission time with VTOL's.

You have destroyed the NEXUS factories very well. This mission is a bit difficult for me at the beginning. I can't get VTOL's ready that quickly. But the artillery I built in Gamma 4 for Gamma 5 also helps me a lot in this mission.
A long time ago, you only had to research a single artifact in this mission. Because of the mission time, this was very poor. I'm glad that you have to research four artifacts for some time now. What I am not at all happy with is the poor number of enemy units. 40:15 -- In your playthrough of version 4.2.4. there were still 370 enemie units. But 247 is paltry.
I played this part as a child, what a madness XD The first time you see it it's scary and so cool!
I also never feel like staying in this transporter mission for long. In the first half of the mission time I build my defenses for Gamma 5 on the base map before I start the transporter.
@@amxhwvhmvawx2735 Yeah I usually try to build defenses on the landing zone on this mission and try to hold but there is no point in doing that, an also I feel like in the past VTOLs were more forgiving and nowadays they just eat you up, so I tried to beat this mission as fast as possible
This mission is always a bit difficult for me and my play style. At this time I don't use any artillery. The number of enemy units in most missions is also no less on Normal than on Insane ! With 30 VTOL that I produced in Gamma 2 I always destroy the two LZs of NEXUS. The enemy factories immediately afterwards.

A nice and simple two-part transporter mission. In the first part of the mission, however, the timer must run out until a few minutes before the end. 27:38 Unfortunately, you missed out on 25 minutes of energy generation. In the second part of the mission, I personally produce 30 VTOL for an important task in Gamma 3.
This game was my first PC game, and I had "lost" many, many hours playing it. I was a I kid, and I just finish game using cheats. Watching this video brings me great memories.
As i remember, the uplink was of the new paradigm (Orange) and the collective can destroy it if you get too close.

In contrast to the Beta campaign, the Gamma missions are very different. It is not so pleasant to fight against the NEXUS units. They are resilient, fast, have high one-shot damage and a long range. That's why I do the opposite in the Gamma campaign to what I do in the other two campaigns. I destroy all NEXUS factories as quickly as possible with VTOL. 1:23:04 So in Gamma 1 I only have about 45 enemy units.
@@amxhwvhmvawx2735 Same as you, in Gamma you have you quick and clever. Ground units are not that useful on this campaign
Unlike most other missions, in Beta 11 you don't have less time on Hard and Insane than on Normal. However, on Insane the number of enemy units has been significantly increased. Additional enemy units arrive from the west and are flown in by transporters. On Normal, I am very jealous of these additional units.
I like this part, enough time to make a perfect base. I like make bases that The Collective can't destroy it in the invasion. But i need to ask: The walls was nerfed? I feel like the walls are more weak than before.
Beta mission 10 here is the most difficult of all for me. Before this mission I also have to replace my beloved Heavy Cannons with the more powerful Hyper Velocity Cannons.
The Beta missions 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 are very similar. There are no special events. But they are very nice material battles that I really enjoy. In all of these missions I try to destroy the Collective's factories as late as possible.
The only problem starting from mission 5 onwards are the howitzers and batteries which are very annoying combined with VTOLs and all being transport missions, but other than that, the Beta campaign is my favorite of the 3
@@l__Zero__l Personally, I only build artillery as stationary emplacement.
I always send all trucks as the first reinforcement, i never think in a strategy so aggressive.
@@darienmunozcastro4708 I though about this fast and aggressive strat only to avoid any reinforcements from landing southeast and to destroy, in case any bunker buster survives, the HQ to the north to stop VTOLs

In this mission I always try to destroy as much as possible. I like the Beta campaign the best. The Collective has many bases with many Hardpoints and walls and a lot of slow and heavy units. The Heavy Cannons have a lot to do and that's fun.
My favorite mission
Nice mission with a bit of stress at the beginning. I collect the last artifact in the last two minutes so that as many enemy ground units come as possible. 7:40 I have never seen anyone take out the LZ so quickly. And I've never had this idea before either. 15:30 But for me the most important thing is to destroy this HQ so that the VTOL attacks stop.
The best mission in the Alpha campaign. The finale against the island fortress of the New Paradigm. In this mission I destroy the enemy factories as late as possible. I destroy the enemy LZ last. Because I want to have as many enemy units as possible for my Heavy Cannons.😀
For me, the Heavy Cannon immediately replaces all other weapons. Heavy Cannon Python Tracks is the only unit I use until Beta 9. There are also limited-time exception units.
Yes it is a bit too good. It should be nerfed in some way, I think that it is to speedy. A couple of years ago the Heavy Cannon was heavier making the unit much slower, that was the drawback. Nowadays that drawback is non existent
@@l__Zero__l 14:51 The Heavy Cannon also earlier had 10000 on the weight display. The Heavy Cannon was also nerfed in terms of weapon damage and rate of fire. But you can see that in the Gamma campaign.
@@amxhwvhmvawx2735 I guess that the damage and fire rate nerf is fine, since the Heavy Cannon still feels so good, but that weight it had made the unit so vulnerable to faster units like lancers or even to artillery. Also it made insane difficulty even harder due to the time it took the unit to move through out the map
This mission and Alpha 7 were and remain too easy on every difficulty.
Yes, the only mission that has some difficulty in the Alpha campaign is in my opinion mission 11, due to the lack of time and the needed setup for the mission

Yes! This game was released 25 years ago . It has a very active community and developers update the game pretty frequently. You will not regret trying this game

This mission is similar good as Alpha 8 but I wish the New Paradigm transporter would come sooner.
A nice mission and the enemy delivers a good fight. Before I drive to the second LZ, I build defenses in the southwest 5:00 to distract the enemy. There were still some oil drums in the southeast corner
Yeah this mission could give you a hard time if you are not prepared enough. In retrospective maybe I should have built half track units to move faster to the LZ

Este juego es una joya. no tiene fecha de vencimiento, siempre es bueno volver a visitarlo. Lo que le da mucha vida es la comunidad activa que tiene y las constantes actualizaciones. Yo cada un par de meses vuelvo a jugar la campaña para que ver que cambios hicieron 😄
If you activate both LZ of the New Paradigm in this mission and leave them intact, two transports will always land.
On Insane, additional units come from the ravine to the left of the New Paradigm base. I can also make good use of these additional enemies on Normal. I'm very jealous of that.
@@amxhwvhmvawx2735 Yeah that is a nice addition to the insane difficulty, as well as the southeast scavenger base. That base was not in the original campaign and I don't know if it's present in the other difficulties

Interesting. After the ultra-easy PS1 version the ultra-hard Remastered version 4.5.2. on Insane. The difference in difficulty is gigantic.
Yeah the campaign on PC with insane difficulty is like a totally different game. The PS1 version was much more forgiving even on hard difficulty
@@l__Zero__l Yes, I played the PS1 version and PC version 2.3.5. on Hard from the start. But I only play the PC Remastered on Normal.

@@l__Zero__l Yes, I've never played on Hard and Insane. I only tested a few missions. Less time and low energy limits are not for me. But more enemy units would be nice. 0:10 Unfortunately, you can't speed up the enemy's factories with the ,,Tweaks''.
I find mini rocket artillery to be redundant. I don't use it at any point in the game, as mortar > bombard is better at killing cyborgs especially, but also tanks and base structures. When enemy cyborgs attack as a group, my bombards regularly kill 3 or 4 at a time due to splash damage. Enemy cyborgs just evaporate against bombard.
So basically I prefer mini rockets just because of mobility and aggressiveness, since artillery like mortars or bombards needs to be stopped and have to turn to a certain angle to target the unit or structure you want to attack. That turns out to be slow in my opinion, and also that makes them vulnerable if you want to play more agressive. They move so slow too and don't have that much range to compensate for that slownes either. Mini rockets, on the other hand, can shoot while moving and if you have 10/15 they clear cyborgs really nice, and also they are great for structures except bunkers. This is faster and safer in my opinion, and since I'm playing in insane difficulty I only want to clear out the mission as fast as possible with minimum casualties.
@@l__Zero__l True. There's always a trade-off. It comes down to playstyle. I'm less aggressive in the way I play, as I creep forward bit by bit with units that can absorb a lot of damage while being protected by repair bays or repair turrets, with a mass of bombards behind them. I slow roll toward the enemy and crush them with little/no losses. If you're an aggressive player, I can see the value in having MRA that has good range, decent against cyborgs, but best of all has good mobility. Thanks for your explanation. The Gamma campaign is where Insane difficulty makes progress tough. You started well using good tactics. Nice work.
It's funny to see how different the strategies can be. I particularly liked the idea of eliminating the upper landing zone with 5 hover bunker busters at the beginning. I've never thought of the idea before.
Thanks for the comment! The idea is to clear out fast the bottom landing zone to avoid being attacked from every entrance, and then use the hovers to clear out the bombard pits and destroy pretty easily the front part of the northern base that has the enemy HQ, and stop VTOLs from spawning
Well done. I did something similar too. Have you tried the latest version 4.4.2 on Insane? The Scavs are much more common and are smarter. It is not playable. I made my comment in the forum today. And I'm really a very experienced player.
Hey! Thanks for commenting! I haven´t looked into the more recent versions of the game. If there are new variants to the insane campaign maybe I should try it again and do a walkthrough. Will look into it
Alpha 1 on Insane (version 4.4.2) took me 2 days. The Scavs come at very short intervals. Their structures are also much harder. You really have to upgrade your own MGs. My winning strategy was to have my 3 trucks build the factory in the narrow path next to the first scav camp so that the scavs from their second base couldn't get through. I only recycled one truck for energy because it took 2 to constantly repair the factory. I then only built one repair viper and somehow managed to get through with a total of 8 tanks - just within the time limit. Preparation for Alpha 2 was not possible. It's unplayable. I would be happy if I could see a video of you - you play very good micromanagement@@l__Zero__l

@@HuntShoZ look, in my opinion on insane difficulty cannons are usable until the end of beta campaign. Then you have to use artillery because nexus units have far more range and sight than your units, so you will be losing to many units and you will run out of oil quickly
Whirlwind AA Is better than the missiles AA. Bunker buster VTOLS are cheaper than pulse laser
