You, your family, and all of Florida are in my thoughts 🙏🏻

What an awesome day! Both your kids are so sweet!
Aww, thank you!
Hope you all are safe from the storms!!
We were lucky to only get tropical storm weather - no issues. Thank you for checking in! ❤️
I agree, holiday sales are not what they used to be. It used to be fun shopping for those big deals.
It was a great time to stock up and just save money with all the extra shopping during the holidays.
You’re surprised first birth to second birth is different? Seriously?
I never said I was surprised.
You should reach out to Free Birth Society and tell your story on their podcast (if you’re interested of course).
I've never heard of them - I'll have to check them out!
Happy early birthday to your daughter! 🥳
Thank you!
You are doing great! Your meals look so good and not restrictive.
Thank you! I'm glad to be back at it. 🥰
I went to a public school my whole life. My husband went to a private Christian school for K-8th grade and public school for 9-12th. Our older kids (from 1st marriages) went to public school. When my son was in middle school, we decided that our two children together would homeschool. We wanted the older kids to homeschool, but their other parents were against it so we couldn't. It wasn't always easy, but I don't regret homeschooling our kids even a little. Our youngest is attending a local trade/technical school for high school juniors and seniors this year for a cosmetology program and she is enjoying it. She definitely sees the difference between her homeschooling friends and her public-school friends though. Homeschooling will take some sacrifice, but I think it is ABSOLUTELY worth it.
Thank you for sharing this. My kids already see differences when they interact with homeschooled VS not, too. And congratulations to your daughter for attending the cosmetology program!
Thanks for sharing your story!
❤️
The US sounds so crazy. Reminds you how privileged we are over here. All the best to you guys 🙏
Education in America is definitely a sore spot.
I am new to homeschooling, my kids are 10 and 7. I am following my intuition but also appreciate hearing from others. I always appreciate hearing someone who isn’t basing it on religion and also find it valuable that you said “on par, or better.” So many people go straight for saying they know they can do it better than the teachers. I have the upmost respect for educators and the absolute majors of teachers I interacted with the last few years are doing everything they can. It’s the other kids and parents that I have challenges with. The entitlement is overwhelming. There is no sense of working together for the greater good of all the kids. My oldest asked to come home for a calm environment because school is bright lights and chaos for almost 9 hours a day. We are in the early stages so I know we have a lot to learn but so far it is a breath of fresh air.
I'm wishing you so much success and happiness in this journey. My husband is a public school teacher, so I also greatly appreciate your comments about educators. Your 9-year-old is so mature to know that the chaos wasn't helping their learning experience, but also felt safe enough to tell you. So many kids don't feel they can express this, for fear of being told to just suck it up.
❤
I'm going to homeschool my kids, been planning to for years and just had my first kid in January of this year. Not only to avoid all the awful crap happening in these schools violence wise, but also because we cannot find a truly unbiased teacher anywhere that doesn't push one side or the other of political agenda it's awful. Kids need to learn both sides of history and politics and decide where they stand for themselves as they grow up. I feel like they've also dumbed down the education incredibly. Partially on the schools, partially on the parents who no longer reinforce anything at home, or do any continuing education at home. My husband was surprisingly even more for homeschool than I was when we first discussed it, and has gotten me even more into the idea as time has gone on. We are planning to at least until high-school, possibly further if the world doesn't go in a better direction with education and such. I'm glad to see more people jumping on the homeschool bandwagon these days though.
I wish you so much success when the time comes! I can't imagine sending mine into school, which is ironic since my husband is a teacher. It's scary enough having him go in!
Curious- what are some of your favorite places to pick your recipes?
Honestly, Pinterest. I have a lot of recipe boards created and I go searching there for new ideas. I have so many cookbooks, but my phone is just easier in this season of life.
if you do receive a lot of packages, a camera system is a must. Alternatively, although very expensive, they sell delivery drop boxes. You can also leave addional delivery instructions like leave behind the house, in the garage. Lastly, it is also a bit expensive. You can use 3rd party mailboxes like UPS and send packages there hecause it is not a POBox.
That looks so good, nourishing and budget friendly. Crock pot season here we come! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! 😊
That cannot be all from one place. Lol
It is! This summer has been good to us for thrifting.
Looks good! Don’t you wish you could actually just snap and there’s dinner! 😅
If only! And snap away dishes and laundry!

How do we get signed up for that
I'd go through an insurance broker. They'll find the best plan that fits both your health/doctor needs and your desire to have a flex card. Then you'd sign up through the broker.
Me too Hurricane Ida flooded my condo in 2021 ever since than I have serious ptsd and obsessively check the weather panic at a drop of rain. I spend more time worrying about if a hurricane will strike than living.

Do you find it hard to find time to read each day? I have a hard time with that sometimes- as much as I want to.
Yes! I began reading again two-years-ago after not for years and I found I have to do it in the early morning before my kids get up. So anywhere between 5:45am - 7:30am I try to after doing chores.
Nope never heard of it! 😂😂😂😂😂❤

What a great idea! I've seen all of those too!! LOVE the Nostalgia.
It's been a fun trip down memory lane and I get to talk about "the good old days" of my childhood. 😆
I wonder if you’re both iodine deficient? I started taking Lugols Iodine as a supplement and anything cyst like in my body just disappeared, nasal polyps, fibroid, fibrocystic breast tissue. Might be worth checking out. Lots of videos on YT about it.
I'm not sure. Mine, they assumed, was from an infected ingrown hair or pimple. I was misdiagnosed with a Baker's Cyst at first, when it was an infected abscess. My Mom's Baker's Cyst is a byproduct of her arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
Hello there! I think you’re doing everything right. It’s natural to feel frustrated and or confused when other parents turn down an offer to stay connected. But don’t be discouraged! Socializing can be hard in this day and age. I would suggest looking online for other homeschool groups with kids your son’s age. Maybe one group exists the next town over, if you’re able to travel? Here’s another possible suggestion that doesn’t necessarily involve exchanging numbers. You might offer to say: “My son had a really great time! We come to this park usually on Tuesdays mostly at noon! I hope we can meet up again some time!” Giving the other party a vague time and place for a potential second meeting is less forward than exchanging contacts. Maybe that can come after a 2nd or 3rd meeting when you and the other parent have spoken more. Or maybe the parent you do connect with knows about other local kid play groups or get-togethers during the summer months? Keep reaching out and stay positive! You sound like a lovely person to be around and I am sure your kids are too!
Thank you for your response! I'll tuck your suggestion away when we meet some potential friends outside of a dedicated prescheduled weekly activity, like the park or splash pad. I recently posted a few videos responding to some comments about this, one of which was our experience with local homeschool groups.
I completely relate, and my kid has spent many years in a classroom. I think the most success we've had was just by going to regular homeschool groups in our community and becoming friends with the other regulars. I would also argue that a classroom is not always the best place to make friends. My daughter never really clicked with very many of her classmates, and she was constantly distressed and distracted by the disruptive kids, which made it even harder for her to connect with people. It also doesn't help that we live in a low income neighborhood where there aren't many kids to begin with, and those that are here are often unsupervised and completely out of control (not the kind of people you'd want your kids to be friends with anyway). We tried private school and had similar issues with entitled children and parents who literally cannot relate to low income people. I think the heart of the matter comes down to people just not wanting to make the effort. My suggestion would be to start with local homeschool groups and go from there. If that doesn't work, consider starting your own group, even if it's just a regular park day. Advertise it on a local social media page and see who shows up. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that other parents are looking for the same connections too. Good luck.
Thank you for your response! It is very difficult to navigate when it feels like no one else is interested in working on connections. I recently posted a few videos responding to some comments about this, one of which was our experience with local homeschool groups.
I’m so glad you are doing better! Great information regarding skin checks, prevention is key.

if you can i would recommend exercising on top of weight loss prioritizing weight loss is good but you also lose muscle mass not as much as the fats your burning but doing weight loss for too long will eventually cut into your muscle in your body and can be unhealthy
Once I'm no longer on modified bed rest, I hope to figure out a movement plan.
